I'm a Leeds fan. It was a 50/50 call IMO as the ball was on the floor for 1 frame. In HD terms that's 1/26th of a second. I bed if they went to the VR for all grubber kicks 50% would show separation. It was also obvious that McGuire was going for the kick. That said, I have no problems with the result. The 8 minute period of Wigan dominance after the break won them the game and I thought Finch was a well deserved man of the match. If we play like that though for the next 2 months we will be in with a shout.

Let's say that Sam was attempting a grubber kick , and just after he dropped the ball (with the intention of kicking it) Danny tackled himfrom behind WHEN HE DIDN't HAVE HOLD OF THE BALL . Is that a foul by Danny for tackling him when he didn't have the ball ? is it a penalty try ? He clearly (as it turned out) would have scored despite the foul .

change Sam for pat richards and mcguire for scott donald, move to the last time leeds went to the piedome and you get alibert giving a penalty in the last second of the game!

All this is due to the ref having the VR and asking him.
If there had not been a VR then it would have been very easy.

The Touch Judge by the incident stood his ground when McGuire went over as he obviously saw the Leeds 6 drop the ball then kick it. It was when Alibert saw the TJ where he was stood and got the reason for it in his earpiece that he went to the VR.

The official nearest the incident saw it as a knock on as did Steve Ganson.

lol at Leeds. Yesterday's team and a shadow of their former selves. Thank god we don't have to listen to the Eddie and Stevo Leeds jizzfest any longer.

Shaun McRae, un-biased australian who has no links with either Wigan or Leeds called it a knock on in the commentry. He knows a lot more about the game than any poster on here.
