We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Average of 10500 this year, slightly down on last years average. But a great start to the season for the clubs, lots of revenue and something to aim for as it gets warmer.

It's up on last year's opening round actually.

Thanks to London, who's fans must have travelled up north en masse this weekend.

It will also be interesting to see what numbers the championship puts up next week.

East stand at Leigh almost entirely sold out

I assume you mean the west stand?
If thats the case then the north stand will be sold out as well, that will leave Bradford fans to hopefully pack out the south stand.
If the east stand is opened as well then that would be an amazing achievement by the club

Can't remember who it was, one of the usual suspects, that claimed attendances would be up this year BUT only because of London.

Opening round 2015 1.42% up on 2014, or...if you're a pedant, 3.4% down discounting the 3,000 freebies at Widnes 8) and for the record, I seem to recall the 2014 opening round attendances being 12% up on 2013's......did you run out of kleenex then too?

No doubt Billy will soon be along with his more definitive comparisons over the seasons, but a solid start for the comp and some good marketing initiatives utilised by some of the clubs.

You are indeed correct, last years average for the round was 10400.

This would be presuming that those fixtures last year had no free tickets or offers too.

Considering William added a ***free ticket/discount ticket to most higher attendances last year it's fair to say we could also look at last years fixtures as similar.

Nah. Surely, his utter and complete demolition and disgrace for claiming the Club Wembley tier was empty for the England v New Zealand World Cup semi-final when in fact it was packed will mean even he will have the good grace to keep his head well and truly down for the forseeable future?

Huddersfields (lack of fans) was pathetic.

More like 2500 but good support all the same its been years since hull had a following like that used to be the norm, well done

Widnes v Wigan - biggest crowd in 25 years wasn't it? Guess what, that had nothing to do with London being relegated.
Record crowd at Hull KR today. Guess what, that had nothing to do with London being relegated.
Biggest Cas/Wakefield crowd in years wasn't it? And guess what, it had nothing to do with London being relegated.

I'm pretty sure the other 3 games weren't affected by London being relegated either.

An increase is an increase and considering Wigan played away after pulling over 16k last year at home we've done extremely well.
