I was always worried from the beginning regarding our halfbacks. They MUST improve, or we will struggle to stay in SL.

Was impressed with Leigh some hard running and played the game quickly.

Can see them doing better than the pundits said as long as they don’t lose too many to injury.

Thought they had 6/7 out, and they did win comfortably in the end keeping them scoreless in the second half.

Agreed. I believe we have another overseas player to come in, plus a marquee player if needed. Personally I would use the marquee player in the halves if possible.

It's easy to sport who was missing for Wigan and far less obvious to spot for Leigh, as we're not used to their squad yet.
with regard to your halves, Wallace was trying, although his kicking game was poor but, Mellor was invisible.

Btw, what's with all the mullets, I thought that had finally gone out of fashion, even in Leigh

In fairness, these 2 halfbacks are not smart, or dangerous enough near the opponents line. Our forwards worked hard, and we should have got more out of these 2. I would have Ellis back in asap.

Mullets? I still see some round here with Mohicans.

From the “high quality available at the moment half backs” tree I presume, if you can point out the particular branch this player is hanging from give DB a nudge I’m sure he’d appreciate it

That's why I said if possible Col.
We have brought in a quality utility back ( Elliott) & Hooker Peats from the NRL You're not telling me there isn't a quality halfback in the NRL who can't quite make first grade over there who isn't better than these 2. I said when we signed them I wasn't impressed or convinced but hoped I was wrong. So far I'm being proven to be right. After saying that, they MUST improve or we will be in the brown stuff if changes aren't made.

Both Wallace and Mellor have played in the lower leagues for some time now, it’s going to take some time to adapt to Super League but it needs to happen ASAP. If not I can quickly see Elliott dropping in at fullback with Brierley playing scrum half.

That said it’s only one game and it’s a long season.
