For the uneducated: the council are giving both the Cas and Wakefield stadium trusts £2m each, that's the only contribution they will make.

In actual fact, the council will have nothing whatsoever to do with the new stadium; they've provided a land parcel against which the stadium trust was able to raise finance - that's all.

As for Yorkcourt - do you think they just decided to build a stadium as part of the development off the M62, or do you think someone at WTW might have had to do a teensy bit of work to get things moving?

Finally, yes, the stadium will be a community facility - WTW will be the anchor tenant.
