| Quote JEAN CAPDOUZE="JEAN CAPDOUZE"They certainly do. After all, what is Leigh? A pathetic former mill town, a pimple on the buttocks of Wigan Borough, with barely 50,000 people resident. It is a backwater which has no train station, no culture to speak of, and its main claim to fame is as the birthplace of Georgie Fame. Compare and contrast with the great city of Toulouse, whose metropolitan area contains over a million residents. Toulouse possesses great cuisine, some magnificent restaurants, museums, a serious university, a citywide metro rail system and its own airport. It has nationally famous rugby union and soccer teams. Plus it is the centre of the French aerospace industry, which will surely become a patron of Toulouse Olympique when they make Super League. Toulouse is a great place to visit and even live. Leigh is a place to avoid.'"
what a load of tripe you spin I am not a fan of Leigh but if we get rid of you on hear I would sooner have leigh then your French teams and I would not stoop has low has you to call them I did not like Paris in our League get a French league up and running first then we can take your teams on

To be fair to the french there are more and more French players playing around the super league and championship than ever before.

You mean the semi-pro French league?
Until, by some minor miracle a broadcaster decides to throw some money at French RL, enabling a fully professional "French Superleague", then Catalans & Toulouse moving to that new competition would be logical.
But that's not going to happen anytime soon. Until it does, I feel the addition of Catalans (& Toulouse to the competition structure) do add to the sport. It's not helping "them" out, it's helping ourselves out, helping the sport we love out.
We have and have always had a small heartland in Southern France, which has somehow survived by the skin of it's teeth all this time despite numerous attempts to destroy it. We should embrace that, we should tap into the player pool to help improve the quality coming through in SL.
You're right, the French national side have been a let down over the past 10 years. I suppose that's what you get when you employ the likes of Bobby Goulding & Richard Agar and have an atrocious International Calendar. The French player pool is at a high, and I hope this can keep growing and translate into a better national side, one that can give England a meaningful test each year.

Well, that proves it. As a life long Hull KR supporter I should have known better. We were average at best. I was right that this won't be tolerated though. I expect a few changes for next week. Minns and Carney are expected back, along with our new number 7 from Swinton who is at least worth a punt since we paid for him to arrive early.
Also, rumours persist about a few more arriving before the m8s. Until officially announced, I don't believe anything though.

so does many other places: are you suggesting Newcastle leapfrog over Catalnas to SL?
"It has nationally famous rugby union and soccer teams."
sounds as if RL will struggle with such opposition
"Plus it is the centre of the French aerospace industry, which will surely become a patron of Toulouse Olympique when they make Super League."
why?
"Toulouse is a great place to visit and even live."
Therefore why aren't you?

| Fax players are on a 10% bonus for making the middle 8's (they took a 10% salary cut at the beginning of the season, which will be paid if they make the top 4). Enough incentive to make life very difficult for HKR next weekend (if TO13 do beat Fev)?

Big game for Toulouse against Featherstone Rovers this Saturday in Toulouse. Toulouse must win and Halifax must lose to Hull KR in order for Toulouse to make the Middle 8s.
It can happen but it is far from certain.

| TO should be favourites against Fev (it really depends on how they react to their coach leaving), and HKR will be favourites against Fax. From a bookies perspective, probably a toss of the coin looking at both games combined for who makes the top 4. Regardless of the Saturday result, Fax still have their destiny in their own hands.
The 8's format may not suit everyone, but it's certainly making for a more exciting end to the season from a Championship perspective.
