Some might look at this as being harsh but I think it's fair. When are the Rugby League going to stop persisting with this fantasy expansion. If it hasn't worked by now, it never will! I'm all for reaching out to a wider audience with our game but not at the expense of historical clubs in the homelands.

To get what he does out of what he's got and with our poor financial situation, to have saved us from a hopeless situation, and to get us punching above our weight on paper in the last couple of seasons, yes. Yes I do.

Admittedly neither of the last two seasons have finished as well as we'd have liked, but taking ALL things into account, I believe Kear is a good coach. In future, I just hope for more consistency. With things as they are, we're going to start struggling.

I just believe my club is falling apart at the seams. And that's not Kear's fault. We could have any coach and the same problems would still be there.
Kear is good at one thing only and that's providing an almost immediate impact at a club. For that reason, a lot of fans take an instant shine to him and are blinkered for the rest of his time in charge. You're never going to achieve any more consistency with Kear in charge or improve the squad at all, regardless of financial considerations or anything else. To be honest, out of all the coaches currently around Kear is probably the last one I'd want in charge of my club, and that isn't a Wakefield thing because I said exactly the same to the Hull fans.

What a crock of poop this thread and most of the contributions too it.

firstly lots of teams still have not finished their recruiting.

there seems to be no consideration of squad depth and competition for places. what will be the effect on teams of injuries crocker is going to be the saviour of Hull. If he gets injured does that mean Hull will be crucified.

how will the new players fit in. if they click the teams might do well if not they will struggle. ( If Carney plays well as he is the creative link we have lacked for so long i can see huddersfield in the top 4. If not i can see us in the bottom 4 )

Too much emphasis is put on too small facets of indavidual teams ie Bradford have a good pack. According to their board they have no backs.wakefield fans feel they have good backs but no 2nd rows.

What influence will the new coaches have potter at saints, Brown at the Giants.

will some players have hangovers from the World cup. how long will it take for them to recahrge their batteries.

When someone starts making predictions based on looking at some facts then thequality of the contributions on here might improve :x

I'm amazed Saints do so well. Considering they're back line is so bad.

Crocker aint our saviour, however based on the fact that Horne, Dykes, King, Motu and Carvell barely played at all last year injuries perimtting we should be a lot stronger in 2009.

Leeds Rhinos? 8 for you, Leeds Rhinos! You go, Leeds Rhinos.

And none for Castleford Tigers. Bye!

To be honest, there's a few teams that could apply to.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

But surely these are the opinions of people on the recruiment so far , as that is all you can do

As regards facts , the only facts are the players recruited anything else is purely speculation , ie opinions like yours
