Me neither, Sky are obsessed by doing the 'right thing'. It's better to have a player who knows about the actual physicality of the men's game. An ex BARLA player would have been better than the woman who was on the Hull v Hull KR game.

Are you saying that no woman could ever commentate on the men's game then?

She currently plays in the women's Super League so has knowledge of playing the game, probably more so than the likes of Dave Woods and Eddie Hemmings.

Far better than Angela Powers. Not excellent, but she'll grow into it hopefully. No Trina Gulliver though

Only caught the 1st half but she was ok. What she said was fine but did sound a bit quiet, perhaps understandable when you’re new to the gig and most likely nervous. If she can speak with more confidence which should come with more appearances she’ll be fine.

The lady in question didn't bring any insights into the game. Maybe thats just a lack of experience, but I was left wondering why she was on the panel.
As for Brian Cox, he is a numpty whose knowledge of space is pure guesswork because like just about evrry other person on this planet he's never been there.

For whatever reason this person has chosen to allegedly pretend to be French or reside in France , whether this person is Australian , British isn’t really relevant .
The concern is that this person thinks they are mocking , ridiculing other forum users which is a concern .

The pseudonym in question has history of been inconsistent, Using someone full Christian name to purposefully try to bait another forum user or to attempt to show a level of intellect, only to forget to be consistent .

David becomes Dave ....Samuel ..becomes Sam etc etc .

This person needs to really take a look at themselves and ask themselves why they are doing this , maybe there are a loner , or have mental health issues .

If this person doesn’t think they have issues that need addressing , they are incorrect. It’s pretty sad for them .

Well said....

Well she was the only one that realised it was a shoulder charge on Sneyd. The others completely missed it, even on a couple of replays. In fact, Jon Wells was banging on about how good a tackle it was!

Yeah, guesswork has gotten him a lot of gig at universities and on TV.
I find the guy quite irritating, but I definitely wouldn't question his knowledge, especially based on such a poor reason.

It's a sad state of affairs when women struggle to get employment on sports channels and this scumbag was in a job for so long

JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

Re: Women on Sky : Mon Apr 22, 2019 10:01 am
A number of years ago I had the leisure to watch a lot of one of the women's Union World Cup tournaments. The quality was awful and the skill levels similar to the U14s boys team that I was coaching. Every tournament since then has seen a steady and strong improvement in the quality as the number of players has increased and I now enjoy and even look forward to watching games. Women's Rugby League is still some way behind in terms of participation and structure but that will come with time. Opportunities to officiate will become more common and the number of personalities available for commentary will increase. At the moment there are few top class female commentators in RL but there are also few top class male ones either. Rather than employing good commentators, like Claire Balding, we limit ourselves to a pool of ex-players with little media ability. All around the world broadcasters are taking the opportunities that using the best figure heads of either sex offer. Canal Plus in France has a fabulous female RU presenter heading up their coverage who certainly brings knowledge and style to a line up of otherwise hairy blokes. Barry McDermot is not going to widen our appeal.
