Is there anymore red tape to get through, or can (in theory) work on the site begin as soon as?
There is some more red tape, but it's actually good news for us - the developer is required to firm up the delivery plans for the stadium (106 agreement) and submit that to the SoS; everything should be boxed off in 8 weeks time.
A long road ahead, but the early indications are that WTW will be anchor tenants in a new 12k capacity stadium for the start of the 2015 season.
I understand the words of caution but as far as I know, the stadium will be owned by a nfp Trust; that being the case, the likelihood of the club being crippled by the management costs and loss of revenue from sales is significantly reduced.
Happpy day for WTW fans!
A very good day for them, it's astonishing the progress that's been made at the Club in the past 12 months.

sounds to be still alot of 'ifs' 'buts' and 'shoulds' in that.
But i hope all goes well for you. This year your crowds have improved massively and Wakey are an example to how a club on the brink can turn it round (all be it with a rather large investor coming on board)
You might be getting a call from Bradford soon to ask if they could possibly share homes! in this situation - NO! is the answer.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
Just out of interest , how positive has your experience of Barton been Iain ? , and what words of advice would you give our friends in Wakefield ?
God you really are a sour old trollop! Let us have our day! - we all know that Barton hasn't been a bed of roses but I fancy that they are more secure now than they were at the Willows.

That may be true, we (the humble fan) don't know the mechanics of the operation yet or the costs and neither do you, so picking a figure out of the air and trying to pass it off as a fact make you look (as has already been pointed out), somewhat bitter!! We are having a good day, a well deserved good day i might add, and numpty's such as yourself cannot spoil it!
Stadium costs arent something that will be drastically different and the 10,000 figure is widely accepted as the requirement in SL even if you own your own venue and control and recieve all its income streams
Generally when these projects are costed people tend to be over optimistic on revenue [ just part of wanting something to happen ] when in reality it is rare that the figures are achieved , as I said the main income control you will have is bodies through the gates , that is where the most work needs to be done , but not with cheap ST s though

Lease costs unknown, arrangements for food and drink concessions unknown, uptake in support unknown. Based on, everything being an improvement on where stand today which i THINK it will be, we will be in a far healthier state than what we have been, anything more is a guess. Who knows our lease costs could even be halved yet!!!!

I think the fact that we've achieved a 30% increase in attendances this season would suggest that Mr Glover is working to a much-improved marketing strategy; a few decent signings, real progress on the stadium and a continuation of the good work he's already doing should see us taking 10k to Newmarket without too many problems.
There's a lot to happen between now and then, but your prophecies of doom are misplaced and unwelcome.

Away support should be up at the new stadium. The number of away fans who currently boycott our 'third world' Belle Vue will have nothing to moan about and therefore no excuse not to come. They can drink beer from shiny new bars, eat burgers from shiny new kitchens and crap in our shiny new toilets.
