I could shoot holes in the excuses he made for England's disastrous world cup....but I cant be bothered.

If he was a player of some significance...maybe. But not him.

Go on, I'd love to see you try, how many holes can be found in something as concise and excuse-free as this:

The team didn't perform at all, and you can make excuses and give mitigation for all the things which went wrong, but we got the rugby wrong. As players we didn't perform, and that's it really.

Couple of things from that:

1. Why have they made him look like a rugger oik in his photo?
2. I'm not sure the marketing managers in RL will thank him for his Bovril comment!
3. Good comments about kids and schools. In Oz we have touch footy which is a simple smaller no contact version of the sport and is MASSIVE right across the country and in schools. Unfortunately the NRL/ARL failed to link it with RL but that's another story. Maybe the RFL should launch something similiar for schools tournaments?

he is the first player to come out and not make excuses:

"As players we didn't perform" is about as excuse free as you can get.

Was this because of his sheer stupidity of his excuse for the Grand Final defeat though? He would of had a bit of stick over that dummy spitting episode.(but then he has at least learnt his lesson)
