A massive change next year is needed! : Sat Feb 21, 2009 4:49 pm
Personally I can’t see the likes of Wakefield, Castleford and Celtic Crusaders beating the likes of Leeds and St Helens for a long time. So my idea is why not have a bonus point if you win two different halves in two different games?

Here’s an example

Leeds v Wakefield Trinity Wildcats @ Headingley Carnegie
Halftime Score: Leeds 0 Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 12

Fulltime Score: Leeds 32 Wakefield 16

Leeds v Wakefield Trinity Wildcats @ Belle View
Halftime Score: Leeds 42 Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 0

Fulltime Score: Leeds 48 Wakefield 16

Leeds would secure 4 points from these games and Wakefield would secure a bonus two points for winning Leeds in the fist half at Headingley 12 - 0 and the second half at Belle View 16 - 6.

I feel that this would give teams a chance who can’t always play for the full eighty minutes on a match day and will make a match that seems gone thanks to a blitz reasonable again because you can get two points thanks to your win in the first half in your last game. It will also make the league table look more interesting!

What do you think?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

I think it would be a good idea for a bonus point to be awarded. There should be a bonus point if you lose by less than 10.

Yeah, I mean it's not like Castleford beat Leeds and St. Helens last year. Or Wakefield beat St. Helens the year before. These things just don't happen.

Why reward failure?

Good point. Long live Wigan's failure and 0 points.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

So basically you have been watching SL for about two years then, or since Leeds became half decent. Give it a rest silly person, Wakey and Cas will always scalp Leeds and Saints, don't be so pathetic.

Enjoy your superiority complex whilst it last,

Indeed. You beat me to it.

Which, since the opening poster doesn't even seem to be aware of such facts, rather renders the thread itself a waste of space.
