Yup. It was a repeat of the 2016 Million Pound Game which Salford snatched in a dramatic final.

Not like the MPG at all. We were never really in it on Friday. Salford could have been further in the lead at half time if they hadn't bombed their own chances.

Not out enthused more out muscled. Badly missed Masoe, Jewitt, Blair and Carney on the wing. The media quoting it was our best side before the match was just nonsense.

Salford was always going to be a tough opponent. Neither Widnes nor Leeds faced a 2018 SL side at the weekend. Could be worse, we could have lost at home ro a less fancied Champ side or the apparently greateat side in the m8s only just squeezing by a part time outfit away from home.

Next week away at Toronto will give a better indication as to where things will end up in this comp and will be Toronto's first SL type game at home. Am I confident? No. Might we win? Maybe.

If Toronto beat Hull Kr, I think it’s going to be MPG at best for them, a massive game for Hull kr. It’s great that this fixture is on sky sports.

Kr have the advantage of a full week turnaround with TWP on a 5 day turnaround.

I agree about the system - what use a promoted team finishing 3rd from bottom and surviving a full season ( 11 points clear of bottom) to then go through this. It's a massive achievement for a promoted team to do that, yet into a mini season we go. Sooner they get rid of these the better, does not reward any form of consistency throughout the season. It's madness, short termism and any team getting promoted have absolutely zero chance to build. All for the million pound game scenario which nobody loves but sky. Like i said, madness.

This had zero impact on this game though, Salford were just the better team. Kicking game was excellent and we did not have enough go forward. We started every set on or own 5 or 10, and eventually ran out of steam. Perfect tactics for a game of this ilk and kudos Ian Watson. No concerns about the result correct team won.

Still 12 points to play for, with 3 home games all winnable and having won a couple of away games recently we still have a very good chance

JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

and?.....Toronto have had that and more all season, so it's poetic justice (and a perfect excuse for sir nobb'ead if they lose).....better still was that Halifax made them work really hard on Sunday, so they'll have been tired and aching getting on the plane today with 2 broken wingers....I hope Eat Hull spank them personally...they are starting to come across as whining smug idiots and being taken down a peg or 5 in front of their beer swilling public is just what they deserve!

The middle 8s are far more interesting to watch than a load of meaningless nothing games at the back end of the season. The HKR players have only themselves to blame for that loss.

I agree they are far more interesting to watch and certainly add excitement. However it’s hard to argue that they are fair when Leeds or Hull Kr could be relegated after finishing so far ahead of Widnes, or that London could be promoted after finishing so far behind The Toronto Wolfpack.

Sorry don’t buy that, you all knew what you signed up for. You also have no idea how the league would have ended up looking in a one up one down scenario - how can to be sure Widnes would end up bottom!

It’s loke the LLS, if that’s what teams were playing for then why assume that’s how the league would end up looking!

Last year Cas probably wouldn’t have finished top if others teams thought you had to finish top to win.

That isn’t the system we use so stop using it as an excuse. Of you think it’s a crap system then don’t watch it, vote with your feet or put up and shut up.

Are you defending the system because your club benefitted from it massively?

On your last point, great idea, we should all stop supporting our individual clubs because that’s going to help how?

Literally no different to Leeds winning Super League in 2011 and 2012 after finishing 5th. Play-offs work fine at both ends of the table.

Spot on. However, no point moaning about it, just got to crack on and hope for the best.
