Great City is Liverpool. Matthew Street will be busy . Only downside is there isn’t much to do around Anfield .
The Sandon , Albert & Arkles are close by but won’t be able to accommodate the footfall for MW.

Surely the RFL will utilise Stanley Park and use this as a fanzone . The hotels in the city are pretty expensive at the best of times , especially a bank holiday weekend .

Luckily we booked 6 weeks ago .

The problem is that we'd like you to get no points and not be gifted them by playing the southern whipping boys 3 times (at least). :D

How many times do Wakefield play London??? ;)

Opening round, last round and the round before Magic, not turned out bad that. :)

Saints, Cas, Wakey, Catalans and HKR are all getting the same ‘advantage’ of playing London 3 times in 2019.

I said it on the other thread, stay in Southport and get the train to Sandhills (about 30 minutes running every quarter hour until late) then get the Soccer bus from the station. Done my bit for the local tourist industry.

Hopefully this clashes with the Liverpool marathon and hotel prices will be £250 for the weekend.

Stay in Widnes. Will be cheaper.

£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

What's the solution?

Solution to what? The Marathon clash or the scheduling?

The Marathon isn't an issue on Saturday as it goes nowhere near Anfield, whilst the Sunday marathon is due to start for "fun runners" at 10.30am, with a 6 hr time limit permitted before racers will be taken off the roads.
Given Anfield is situated at the 6-7 mile stage, it is fair to assume that all runners will be past this point by 12.30 at the latest, with a view to all roads being opened again soon thereafter.

Given day 1 last year didn't start until 3pm, I would imagine that both days will finish with a 7.30pm KO and feature at least one team from the area.......

...which dovetails nicely into scheduling.

Day 1
Salford v Hull KR
Leeds v London
St Helens v Castleford
Day 2
Huddersfield v Hull FC
Wakefield v Catalans
Wigan v Warrington

Both sets of Hull fans travel in decent numbers and even if they're not hanging around for the other 2 games, they'll be there in enough numbers to make the place look OK.
I can see day 1 getting close to 40k and day 2 over 30k.....the marathon clash isn't ideal, but Anfield/Liverpool council are obviously willing to pay more than the Geordies.

Both sets of Hull fans can leave home at 10am and be tucked up in bed by 9pm if they fancy the day trip.......

So basically your whole post and arguement is wrong.

The games being played are
14:00 - Wakefield Trinity v Catalans Dragons 13:00 - Salford Red Devils v Hull Kingston Rovers
16:30 - Hull FC v Huddersfield Giants 15:30 - Leeds Rhinos v London Broncos
19:00 - Wigan Warriors v Warrington Wolves 18:00 - St Helens v Castleford Tigers

Plus the Sunday games start at 1 pm which means using your extrapolations that there will be 30 minutes between the runners passing Anfield opening the roads and getting all the fans in for day to start at 1 pm.

No. My Post is what I would have done in terms of scheduling the days. The RFL have form in shifting goal posts...anyone remember the recent Anfield farce?
I stand by my scheduling as far better than the RFL's.....especially the later starts, but I am not the one dealing with Liverpool Old Bill who seem to cack their pants ant the thought of 1/3rd of the Wembley CC Final crowd in a stadium at once.......someone needs to explain we're not soccer.

"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

Sorry Buddy, I meant what was the solution to the expensive hotels given that plenty of runners have bagged them already?

But yeah your itinerary is all wrong anyway!

Day trip, camping, out of town hotel, expensive city centre hotel i’d say are your options.
