So you have 2 marquees and Semi-do-da, not counting Tui, and it's going well?

No, no one said it’s going well. Problem is that whilst Sinfield has made those signings, he’s also unceremoniously dumped some players out of the club and others still here were offered out too. So we’re caught between part of the squad he wants and part of the squad he inherited with several he doesn’t want and they know it, hence some poor efforts in games because they know they’ll be gone soon or have at least seen their mates ditched unceremoniously.

Once he manages to make it HIS full squad we’ll be fine, but because of contracts and SC it’ll probably take until 2021. The one question mark though is whether he’ll get the right coach in by then because Furner doesn’t look up to it. We’ve seen why he was an attack coach over in Aus, because he can’t teach defence.

It shows. Leeds can look great in 5 minute bursts when they're on the front foot, but as soon as they're under the cosh, they can look dire for 15 minutes.

Leeds had lots of players missing, including many who were on the field...

What the love has happened to Kallum Watkins?!

They rushed him back from his serious injury. He did his ACL at Magic Weekend on 19th May, he returned for his testimonial on 20th January. Bang on 7 months. Look at any other recent ACL’s and they’ve been between 9-12 months out at least, Ryan Hall is currently at 8 and a half months out and yet to return playing yet.

Shocking decision to pick him for the start of the season and they basically admitted he wasn’t fit to return after Round 5 when Furner said he’s unable to run pain free on that knee. So what do they do, have him miss two games and then straight back in again, as if two weeks off is going to sort it.

McDermott got loads of stick from fans for picking guys with knocks or rushing one back but this has been worst than anything McDermott did and no one is really criticising Furner for it.

Watkins has always been a confidence player, and at the moment he has zero confidence in his knee.

For all the talk about the quality of the squad, Furner was my one big question mark when the season started. As giddy as some were getting over the attack work he was doing at Sydney, I was wondering if he could coach defence as well. Turns out to be worst than I thought. Along with flopping at Canberra several years back I was cautious of this appointment, yet people liked it because of his previous Leeds connections, which is really what got him the job being Sinfield’s mate/mentor back in 03/04.

I'm pretty sure he isnt the primary coach for defense.
And I don't think you'll find a simple answer like that.
And I'm sure Sinfield had other mates.

Many of the players aren't as good as their predecessors. And it will take time to build again.

It's bang on 8 months, not 7. Which was the projected schedule when the extent of the injury was first known.
You might be right in identifying a lack of confidence; as for the physical side, presumably the medical staff who passed him fit do have some knowledge of what they're about.
