Tommy Minns : Wed May 22, 2019 5:41 pm
Back at Hull Kingston Rovers :

Thomas Minns has been handed a career lifeline by Hull KR, less than a year after he was sacked by the club for testing positive for cocaine.
The 24-year-old has signed a six-month deal and will be available to play once his drugs ban ends on July 15.

Minns can return to a professional environment to train from June 1 and has the chance to resurrect his career in the second half of the Super League season.
“I’m absolutely over the moon to be back here. It’s been a long journey, I’ve learned a lot about myself and I’ve put a lot of wrongs right in my life,” he told Hull KR TV.
“I really appreciate Mike (Smith, CEO), Neil (Hudgell, owner) and Tim (Sheens, head coach) for offering me a second chance to represent this great club and I am raring to go.
“I cannot wait for that first time when I get to pull on that Hull KR jersey again. It’ll be quite an emotional day for me and my family.

When I received my ban, Neil, Mike and Tim got a lot of support for me through my psychiatrist, so we’ve always been in touch with regards to them helping me, checking up on me.
“They were great in that respect and we kept on speaking as friends so to speak.

Good example for the kids, get out of your mind on the powder & everything will be fine in the end.

"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

He went out and got wrecked on mother's day not long after losing his mum.

Some players have had numerous chances, I do believe in second chances, he seems a decent lad so I wish him well. He obviously feels a connection with KR so I'm sure he will give his all and keep his head down.

My thoughts entirely. When he was banned he went out and got a job, worked hard at sorting his issues out and has hopefully come through the other side. I wish him well, he deserves this second chance.

Imagine if a whole team caught using performance enhancing substances?
I'm sure your opinion would be uniform?

I’m very much a hang them high guy. By that I mean that once proven guilty you should revive the max sentence and mitigation should be offered only in the most extreme cases ie very rarely.

However there has to be fairness and balance otherwise it stops being justice and becomes vindictive. So I also believe that once you’ve served your time the slate is clean so imo Minns like everyone else has earned a second chance.

Also a young RL player should not be a child’s roll model or an example of how to lead your life, that’s the job of the kids parents!

Well said Karen I has a rovers fan hope he does well and I was one who said no player should be able to play again once band but he seems genuinely good so one more chance
