I am surprised no one has mentioned the massive knock on for Clubbs try at the end. I am fully aware that it had no bearing on the end result, however does it beg the question of what is the point of the video ref?
FWIW, at full speed there appears to be nothing wrong with it so awarding the try would happen 99 times out of 100 unless the flag waver was close enough to see the ball spill. But when you see the n'th degree of detail the VR went into on the previous night game to firstly award a try to Kelly when it could be argued that Connor could have knocked it on (That said, the ball lands some distance behind Connor hence the reason it was given) and then the Shaul no try due to a lose palm on a defenders back, which a controversial argument for a completed tackle, if there are going to have the VR use it, use it consistently, use it at all games or simply dont use it at all.

If the ref and linesman don't see anything the vr doesn't come into play

That's kind of my point though. On field referee give a try and that's the final decision. Although it doesn't happen often, there are occasions when the VR has had a word in the ear of the official to make a correction (Faraimo's red card at Craven Park last year being a good example).
With the video replay being shown in the stadium, it make the official look incompetent. This is not a dig at Kendall. As mentioned, it full speed there appeared nothing wrong with it. Perhaps its time to not show the replays at the ground?

I can understand the ref not thinking there’s anything wrong with it as the ball was on the far side for him. The TJ was close to it and on the correct side. He should have seen Clubb clearly hit the ground before the line and then the ball bounce up.
If it was a non-VR game I’d be ok with the TJ, with having to make a decision one way or another, giving it. But if he wasn’t telling Kendall to check it he should have been.
If Kendall ignores that advice from his TJ then that’s inexcusable from a ref who helped make that game frustrating for both sides.
