Were my eyes deceiving me or is the North Stand at Belle Vue subsiding. The stand is breaking in two. The gap between them having been poorly repaired. The foot or so difference in height having been poorly made up in concrete. Say that the flare that was let off the other day had exploded. The crowd would have surged away from the incident. People would neither see or expect the floor to rise as it does. People would stumble and fall. The push from behind would cause serious injuries or death. I would as you to see what happened at Bethnal Green Tube station in WW2.Further some of the walkways are not in good condition.
Mend a Hose Jungle. The bank that rises to the Railway End. Behind the Skyboard is an area covered in stones. As small stones do they have travelled and are all over the ground, on the steps and terrace. An emergency evacuation with loose footing is not safe.
The concrete on the terraces is in poor condition. Edges broken and generally they are not good.
I know that these are old stadia. But they have to be safe especially with large crowds.
Am I correct in thinking Wakefield Council covers both of the old grounds?
