I won't say Koukash was the best thing to happen to the club but he did right by them and put them on the right path to have this season. All credit to him and i think RL needs more like him. At least he tried to take the game forward, sometimes in a misguided fashion but I believe he always had the good of the game and Salford at heart

I think it was more that he payed Hastings wages than brought him over. Writing off his debts while he was at the club was also a massive thing for us. We simply wouldn't be able to have existed without that bit of generosity.

It was good to write off the debts, but then again - it's not like you could repay him anyway so I'm not sure he was giving much up. . . . .

Whatever way you look at it, it was £2m. Not being able to get repaid and writing it off are 2 different things entirely. He could of issued a winding up order against them to recoup some of it if he had wanted to.
A massive show of generosity

It meant the club survived. If he wanted even a percentage paying back we wouldn't have survived. Simple really.

Don't get me wrong it's brilliant he put in £2m and I applaud him for it. I just don't think he was ever going to get anything back - write off or no write off.

We need more people willing to put big money into clubs, but not as much as we need a commercial platform to help clubs exist without them.

Of course he would of got some of his money back. Had he chosen to go down the route of obtaining a winding up order, the administrator would have the right to sell all of the company's assets in order to repay it`s creditors.

I don't know what assets Salford actually have other than players contracts. There must be some but no idea what the value is. If he had placed a winding up order on them he could reasonably expect to get 20 - 50p in the £1 back. That equates to £400k - £1m back. I think it is really incredulous that Salford fans dont appreciate what he has done for the club. I doubt they would even be here without him

With there squad at the time he left, I think they would have covered a lot just from fees involved from players. To put it into perspective in a similar situation Saints paid 50k to Wakefield for Kyle Amor who was an okay but not brilliant player at the time, and Hull FC paid us 30k for Sam Obst.
