SBW didn't manage daily news coverage when he was at the peak of his career and although he is a great, if expensive signing for TWP, he isn't going to be headline news anytime soon, especially in a city already dominated by other mainstream sports.

Good luck to the player though, who has been box office for most of his career.

Never know, we may be pleasantly surprised by the level of coverage when he actually arrives there and does the usual press stuff. Equally there may be barely a ripple.

I've said many times that TWP have done a superb job in promoting a new sport in a "virgin" area and of all the SL clubs, they already appear to be head and shoulders above the rest of the sport in terms pf their promotion and publicity (mind you it's much easier when money doesn't matter).

IF their attendance numbers are to be believed, they should be now be capable of selling out The Lamport Stadium for every home game, which would be superb and if they are here for the long term it would be great to see them playing out of a "better" facility.
We all have to see how it runs and they must, must find a way to develop at least some of their own players, although Im not sure how this can happen without junior rugby being sold to the masses.
It's "easy" to plant a side in new territory but, sustaining it is a whole different ball game.

The Chinese press have ran an article on SBWs move to Toronto. The Chinese press have never commented on the London Broncos, even when Branson was in charge.

This just proves that the whole world knows who Toronto Wolfpack are but have no idea who the London Broncos are

Chinese State Media has run no story on anything to do with SBW. The English written South China Morning Press has.....it has a circulation of 100,000 expats. Choir already knew who SBW was lebronbazza.....the SCMP preaches to english speaking ex-pats 13k away from toronto, slightly closer than you are (Sydney to Toronto v HK to Toronto)

Just returned from holiday where most of the guests were Americans and Canadians. Now I know Canada is a big place, But a few groups had people with blue jay T shirts. Thought it would be interesting to see if any of the Canadians knew of the Toronto Wolfpack. Only one person had heard of them as they had just signed SBW but he thought they were a rugby union side! Did my best to convince them to go and give it a look ( it’s better than rounders for men ).

A few moons ago.....I was on an Oker RL forum....<REMOVED - No Need> and I commented on how I'd seen very little advertising, promotion or even replica shirts when visiting the Central Business District of Sydney. The good folk on there decided to call me a thick paddy who'd have died in the famine because I couldn't fish.....Racist is being a tad harsh on hitler I would say, but that is the reality in Sydney.

Walk through central London and you will see hundreds of soccer shirts....but I reckon per head per capita, you'll see more NRL shirts on show in Auckland than Sydney, so it is no suprise that Canadians have not a friggin clue who either the pack or what rugby league are.....
