Really? Superleague is currently a league with a 10 club English content.

Should Leigh be promoted, Superleague will have another English professional club that will (1) run a player development system to expand the player pool and will (2) attract more English fans to subscribe to the TV deal and expand that income and (3) see hundreds of Leigh fans attend away games and expand attendances. Those first two factors are the definition of expansion accepted by Toronto when they joined the RFL, and say an average of 500 travelling Leigh fans will expand attendances here significantly.

So your incapable of debate if you cannot accept those three simple facts the first two accepted by Mr. Argyles club, facts that were accepted by Mr. Perez and later Mr. McDermott when he accepted that TWP would not be adding any quality North Americans to the player pool. (don't start being silly quoting Ngwati) nor adding any money to the TV deals....and whilst in SL not bringing any away fans- with attendances so far dispelling the stupid made up myth that TWP will attract a big following here..

Leigh for Toronto will see Superleague expand it's M62 footprint in terms of paying TV viewers for SKY....
Leigh for Toronto will see Superleague expand it's M62 footprint in terms of pro player development here....
Leigh for Toronto will see Superleague expand it's M62 footprint in terms of travelling fans expect 3,000 at Wigan

Whoever you are you adopt exactly the same pose most so called expansionists take that if some rich guy finds 17 players from Leigh, take them to Mali in Africa, and dress them up in Timbuktoo shirts then takes Wigan's Superleague place that is "Expansion" It's not, it's ridiculous as is the crazy idea of flying two teams out to Canada at great cost to pretend they play and watch RL in Canada in any number. Get back in yer beer tent.

Ah yes, rl being played in Leigh, a town that can't get more than 5k average to a game and has been playing rl for generations, is really expanding the game.

Rugby league really took off the year that Leigh made it to super league. If only we knew then how good we had it.

Leigh averaged 6,521 when in SL. We Just fell short of retaining SL status,so who knows what the average would have been the following season if they wasn't relegated? hypothetical yes,but imo more would have attended. BTW - Wigan v Leigh at the DW Stadium attracted the 5th highest attendance of the regular season with a crowd of 15,699. :SUBMISSION:

You are quite welcome to continue trolling if it makes you feel better old bean.

Why do you and your mate Donnyman consider anyone who has a different view to your own to be trolling? Are you both incapable of having an adult discussion?

You assume Sky subscriptions will increase, did this occur when they last reached Super League?

There is no evidence to say that it will, because as another poster has already said, I would assume that if I was a rusted on ''real'' fan of Leigh and rugby league was my favourite sport, then I would already have a Sky subscription.

You didn't give a view, you gave an insult (To Leigh Centurions),in which I responded with facts, so you never really entered a discussion did you old boy.

Where was the insult?

If you want to play that game, you accused me of having multiple aliases.

I don't know mate. I think your feeding him here. Anyway this past few weeks has been great, after the past few years has been all about this fantastic expansion episode. Not.

Jean wasn't the only one who fell for it, even the great and the good like Martyn Sadler asked the other week "don't Superleague want a presence in North America?" well the answer is yes, but sadly they only got one in Manchester with the circus flying out for a few token summer games.

Equally Danny Lockwood bemoans the "hardline response" from SL clubs over allowing TWP more players, and suggests TWP should now find an "indoor arena" in Toronto so they can properly play home and away. Not that that changes anything Danny - no players, no TV deal, massive debt Danny.

On the TRL forum TWP's exposure as a rather all hype, empty shell led to insults flying on the forum with one of the mods CKN calling out fans here for being rabid anti-expansionists. Hardly even handed and not even true. London and Les Catalans never got what TWP are getting now TWP's massive debts and massive inadequacies are centre stage and fans are rightly angry.

But the bottom line is those inadequacies Leigh do not have, were apparent long ago. It takes a big man with a big heart to admit that they were wrong. I hope Jean Capdouze will show us he is that big man.............

[quote="Cokey"]You didn't give a view, you gave an insult [b](To Leigh Centurions)

He gave the view if Leigh were promoted then there would be no new SKY subscriptions taken out around Leigh.

I remember when Leigh struggled in the Championship and nearly got relegated. crowds dropped as far as 1,400

Not long ago in Superleague they were getting over 6,000 - the interest quadrupled once Leigh hit Superleague and that was fans that had the time and money to go to games never mind people in Leigh who maybe could not afford to go or were too infirm but wanted to see their club at the top table.

The idea that nobody in Leigh would be buying SKY subs if leigh went up is the height of ignorance or trolling - let the people decide

Anyway TWP are back in court soon over unpaid bills - Danny told us.....

League Weekly are reporting that London Skolars have released a statement advising that Toronto have failed so far to pay monies due to them in relation to the 'sizeable minority stake' purchased in December 2018.
