My bad it was the 71st minute when you scored your last try.

And like I've posted on your forum, when you've defended for 20 minutes in the 2nd half due to constant penalties against you then we clearly had f*ck all in the tank when Griffiths tried to even the penalty count up.

On a positive note we'll be absolutely fine. There are worse teams than us and we've got the best coach in SL. Last year was a whirlwind and not likely to be repeated soon but some of the drivel I've read from Leeds fans saying we'll be battling it out for the wooden spoon with Toronto is laughable.

Based on today, if we're in a relegation scrap then the "mighty" Leeds won't be too far ahead of us!

There was more than 10 minutes to go when you got those penalties, had you been able to score you could have been 1 score behind with 10 minutes to go, the fact you threw it away and we actually scored is not the refs fault, neither is the fact we took our chances and you didn’t.

As you rightly point out losing those players took its toll in the end.

I don’t disagree with you and hadn’t mentioned how long was left. But I’m sure you’d have preferred to have a cluster of daft penalties when the game was tight just after half time rather than 2 scores down towards the end with an exhausted pack? Anyway, congratulations to Leeds. On we go.

Obviously, Leeds fans will say the referee didn’t affect the result of the game and Salford will say that he did.

Griffiths is from Widnes and so am I, but he was awful today and after the crowd called him out for a bad decision, he seemed to take it out on Salford.

We desperately need referees and he is only 25 - he had a very poor game but should improve with experience. What isn’t fair is that if players have bad games they are “rested” and just because we are short of referees doesn’t mean that this common sense rule shouldn’t be applied.

Refs do get better with experience. Look at Child, he's no worse than appalling these days :D

What did he do so badly? Was it the way he controlled the game, policed the PTB etc? Or was it just that he gave a bunch of decisions that you didn't agree with?

If it's the latter then what I will say is that without the benefit of TV replays the refs have a much better view than you do most of the time. Complaining about a ref in a non televised game always just smacks of sour grapes to me. You have no idea whether he got his decisions correct or not in most cases.

No sour grapes from me - Leeds upped the pace at the right time and we crumbled. Injuries and a couple of key decisions were aggravating factors but not the deciding factor.

For what it’s worth - it was mainly the tackle/PTB and just inconsistent interpretations. I don’t think he bothered with offside much but still pinged us a couple of times out of the blue (same with Leeds late on there). A few people are complaining about the Evalds tackle in the air but for me that one was pretty close - others did not seem to be close at all. If you want specifics there were three almost identical knock down/knockon calls and all three went against Salford- two were blatantly wrong and I’m not sure the third was clear cut.

Never heard of that referee and hope not to see him again he was totally useless, had no right to be refereeing an under 7's game, when Leeds took Evalds in the air and he gave a drop out that changed the whole game for me they scored and it all went downhill.

What I will say is he gave us four penaltys in quick succession once the game had gone and I don't believe a single one was a penalty whilst noting it took him until the fourth to put Leeds on a team warning whilst it only took him three penaltys in the first half to do the same to us.

Again for the third game in a row I watched two poor sides for sure both us and Leeds won't be troubling Old Trafford.

You know when the referee is bad when the players start losing it with him I'm surprised we didn't have anyone sent off for instance Pauli Pauli thumping the padding and Joey Lussick literally throwing the ball at him after Joey scooped the ball up and was away, Joey knew he hadn't knocked on and that useless ref should have then sent Joey off but just gave the scrum to Leeds under the sticks.
