No it would be better to follow the guidelines that have been put in place by the government - which as far as I can see has happened here. Everyone is being tested and everyone affected is now isolating so this localised outbreak can be contained as much as possible. Super League adjusts the fixture list to try and minimise impact further down the line, not sure what else can be done?

It was inevitable there were going to be positive tests at some point, there was in football despite the lockdown rules being much stricter back then.

Surely people need to know who has tested positive in case anybody has been near to them? If I'd been in a restaurant with any Hull player over the weekend then I'd like to know if any of them were the ones who had tested positive as I would then need to isolate and get tested myself.

You might like to know, but you have no right to know any names. If the restaurant had a record of who's been in and when, then you'd potentially be notified that you'd been close to someone who had since tested positive but that's as far as it would go. You would then need to isolate - tests are only available to the general public for those showing symptoms https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested

Worthwhile only frequenting places that take things seriously and make a record of your visit.

It’s what the Government have been doing these past 5 months.

Hence why removing scrums because of covid 19 was ridiculous. It doesn't change anything.

The rules clubs have are clearly quite relaxed if players are free to go to bars and pubs.

Certainly not like the NRL. Wayne Bennett couldn't even go to dinner with his wife without being punished.

Stop finger pointing. You have absolutely no idea how this could have infected the camp. You've gone to instant blame. It could have literally come from anywhere, even family members passing it on.

Shock horror, a Hull FC player thought it was acceptable to turn up to training having been to a hospital and displaying Covid symptoms. Completely avoidable given that player should have been nowhere near any FC member of staff for two weeks. They should be sacked and Hull FC should be fined. Harsh but if you want to reduce the chances of this happening again then it needs to be done.

And you have no evidence whatsoever to substantiate any of that regarding the Hull players, half our team is diagnosed with this deadly virus, which could have been contracted anywhere that’s contagion mate. Try to show a little sympathy with these lads and their families, before spouting your Neanderthal parochial biases.

“Fine them” really what a plum

So we now know one moron in the Hull FC playing squad went to a hospital and didn’t isolate despite having symptoms. So yes, fine them.

You wouldn't be saying that if it was a Rovers player!

All speculation at the moment and could have been any club.
The way this has been approached I suspect there will have been myriad breaches of guidelines by individuals at most if not all clubs and luckily no one got infected?
The facts that need establishing are who when and how it got into the FC structures? If it is as Pearsons statement then the player attending showing symptoms indeed has been pretty daft and shouldn't have been granted access.
Easy to say after the event.

Well, at least now the RFL/SL can lay down some strict ground rules for the players right? Like no going to pubs/bars/beaches etc, maybe look at isolation for hospital visits from now on.

The players need to act like it was still a lockdown (that never was) otherwise it’s going to keep on happening.
