If you can't envisage what stewards can do to ensure that safety measures are observed, then you're living in a constant fog. You talk about a soft lockdown, and not seeing your parents, yet the infection rate is increasing through lack of commonsense and stupidity by not observing the rules, because there is no one there to keep folk in line with the restrictions. At least there are stewards at the stadium to ensure all safety measures are observed in and around the stadium. What more do you want? And don't keep asking me what measures should be in place, you're making yourself look stupid.

The main problem is not posed during the match itself but in getting them in, and more importantly, out of the ground, not to mention having '00(0)s descending into one area over a short period of time putting a strain on local amenities and pubs.

Local amenities and pubs should have their measures in place too. There's no excuse. What you're saying is,we are too stupid to follow these important life threatening rules.

Why no chance at rugby league? I just don't get it.

How are you getting everyone out of the ground without them all being grouped together? Unfortunately when everyone wants to do the same thing at the same time (i.e leave after the final whistle) impatience would take over, and social distancing would go out of the window. People would not politely queue 2m apart for god knows how long to leave safely. Just look at how people behave driving in heavy traffic if you want an insight into why I don't think they will adhere to the rules. Even in the beer queues at the ground people get as close as possible to the person in front as though it will somehow make the queue move quicker.

I know you have mentioned stewards, but they aren't highly trained, have little power, and the ones I know weren't exactly the brightest and the best to begin with, nor are they in any way intimidating. Realistically impatient people wanting to leave would just tell them to f* off if they tried to tell them to patiently wait 2m apart for a significant length of time and that would be the end of it.

You have advocated that it could work. I've just read your post over on the Wigan board. That's both you and Eggy. So, what do you really want? Apart from coming on here to take the p!$$.

Alas fans aren’t allowed in stadiums but Tories are allowed to hunt foxes in groups of 30.

No I didn't, I said getting in might be manageable but getting out wouldn't, but you clearly already realise that, because on the Wigan board you deleted the half of my quote where I made that clear
