French drops it from the kick through, penalty against Connor given whilst Griffin was running through to score. Ball steal against Griffin when it was 1v1. Forward pass from Hastings to Burgess for 2nd try.
How many times was he telling Wigan players they weren't square?? It means the space is narrowed, hooker can't scoot, allowing Wigan to get off the line quick. Penalise it!!
Elbow to Isa's face in the tackle. Should have been a penalty, wasn't.
If Hull came to the DW to play rugby they might have stood a chance, they tried to rough us up and it didn't work. In fact in the 2nd half there was only one team in it.

And you didn’t get absolutely walloped as he said, you were right in that game up until the Griffin incident and it was never a 29-2 game. A number of chances just didn’t quite come off for Hull.
We did, a bit more luck and it would have been closer, worry for me is that all chances came from kicks, although that's a credit to your defence.

I thought it was pretty tame in that respect, only a head pat and a shoulder charge from Singleton.
Prior to the last few weeks I’d have agreed he’s our best ref but he’s had some real high profile howlers.
I take on board your comments re the video ref; Hicks could and should’ve stepped in last week. But I also expect Kendall not to miss them, in particular the McIlorum.
Going back to tonight he’s missed a forward pass for the Smith try, he wrongly penalised Connor when French had already dropped the ball and the 1 on 1 steak from Griffin was wrongly penalised too. He’s not the reason Hull lost by the way, Wigan were the better side, but he’s making too many mistakes currently.
Unfortunately he’s had 2 playoff games and after both, a lot of the talk is about him. Now I know you’re gonna get that from opposition (or neutral ) fans but it’s not good that he’s been surrounded in controversy the last 2 weeks.
I’ve always thought the best refs are those that you don’t notice and aren’t talked about and he’s the complete opposite at the minute. His last two performances haven’t been good at all. Also, he’d be under so much scrutiny from the first whistle next week that I think there’d be an element of the RFL throwing him to the wolves personally.
I think he penalised hull for offside from the strip, he pulls ball out (maybe he thought there was another players hand on?) But the hull player who caught it was offside??? He was deffo in front of Griffin when he pulled it out. Not sure of ball went forward though as he was going back to his own line And if your referring to the one were connor kicked at the ball, French hadnt lost the ball Forward pass from hastings to Burgess nah

I’ve seen the replay of the Smith try and didn’t see a forward pass. The Hastings one to Burgess is the one I presume you’re talking about but it looks fine to me. Even the man with a hawk eye for any hint of an issue in Wigan’s play, Terry O’Connor, didn’t call it and that’s good enough for me (talk about making sure people don’t think your biased towards your ex club). The French one is a penalty all day, you cannot go in with your feet as somebody is gathering a ball. Had French been trying to dive on a loose ball to score a try in the in goal and somebody went in with the feet like that, it would be a penalty at least.
The Griffin one I agree, he got that wrong in regards to it being two on one, although you could make a case to say the ball went forward off Griffin anyway. Hardly a hanging offence when it comes to his performances over a period of time and I’ll harp back to that Wigan vs Saints game. It was a masterclass in reffing a big game and he was let down on the Greenwood incident by the video ref. That is the standard of refereeing I want to see in all games but especially big games. Every player being given the opportunity not to give penalties away by clear instruction and a game being allowed to flow at great pace.
