....dead in the water according to both the journalist (sic) who broke the story of its inception, as well as club administrators in the states.
Apparently there is no money and the claimed heavy hitting backers have moved away/run for the hills.
Now. To be clear.
Anyone who questioned this fool's errand is within their rights to claim "I told you so" but the reality is that rather than one upmanship and gloating, the sport needs to ask itself why, again, have enthusiastic fans been allowed to be at the forefront of expansion.
A certain gym teacher from Yorkshire seems to have been behind this, so it comes as no surprise that the lines between what game (league/union) was involved are at the core to these issues.
Furthermore. The UK RL press have again been duped by a smoke and mirrors play. You have to wonder how some of these media outlets survive when they are repeatedly fooled by stories of world expansion.
Toronto we're toast before covid and this new entity didn't make it out if the delivery suite....
Thank christ for the Championship in the UK. It may not be state of origin, but it seems "happy in its own skin" and once toulouse go up, I expect it to be a more competitive comp than SL.
Enough non organic growth. Let Perez, Willoughby and the rest con easy marks out of short term cash, but let's sort the game out at home before dreaming of trips to Vegas.

He’s not a gym teacher he’s a guy who ram a gym, and if he can’t run a team in the pennine league without it folding what hope he’s going to run an international competition from a semi detached in Scissett

The press merely reported all the rubbish spouted by Perez and Wilby, it was the fans who either fell for it, or called it out as the nonsense it was.... .

Not a matter AT ALL of those who called it out "Gloating" far more a matter of those who were suckered into it calling all their realist brother fans flatcappers and other worse names admitting they were suckered, and apologising for the on line abuse they daily threw at decent SL fans here..........

Many fans of the game have left or been removed from platforms like these for pointing out exactly what is wrong with the game (off the park).

First point of order should be to sort out the game at home before creating imaginary leagues that will do nothing other than give aging Aussies somewhere else to go.

London v Dewsbury had a reduced capacity limit of 2,000.

280 people went. After 18 months sat at home, TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY people bothered to go to a live game........sort that out first Perez and then I'll believe you can maybe do 10% of the crap you claim you can!

League is of course localised and that is down to it's history. Many years ago the breakaway north rejected union and tried to expand countrywide. In the end Rugby Union held firm so that was that and that the two games "heartlands" (ours the M62, Unions the rest of Great Britain and ireland) were set in stone...

The sensible policy is clearly survival, how some people can think Eric Perez was going to deliver a professional Trans-European Rugby League I never knew? Yet so many believed it and here we have him again getting people all excited about a North American pro-league. But as always the fantasists lapped it up.

If there was the endless $$Millions awaiting the formation of a professional league in North America with untold riches open to players here, don't these fantasists realise it would destroy the game here? The same fantasists are now turning to the idea Toulouse can enter Superleague next year and be followed by two more French clubs to make a European league.

The bottom line was always that there is in reality only one solid fact. And that is SKY are the only source of big money and that comes from English RL Fans paying to watch English clubs. Kill that and you kill off the game in the northern Hemisphere........
