Can a forward pass be intercepted or is the play dead as soon as the pass is thrown?

Surely it would be play on on the basis a pass can`t be forward if it`s not a complete pass?

If the pass is intercepted cleanly then play goes on.
If the pass is knocked on in attempting the interception the forward pass is given.
If the pass is knocked back in attempting the interception and touched by the opposition a forward pass is given.

Probably depends on whos reffing what day it is and which side of the bed they got out of.

I actually thought that forward passes were ok this season and thought that it may have been another "improvement" in the rules, like the "ball steal" .

Some may say, the ref always blows. Until your team wins, then it was a flawless reffing performance.

You can pick up a knock on and carry on, I'm pretty sure the same would apply with a forward pass.

Yes, play continues with tackle zero. It's technically a knock on rather than a forward pass though as it hasn't been caught by a teammate.
