As an expansionist club, they should be located outside the game’s heartland. My money is the new location somewhere in West Yorkshire, with a former RFL leader, with past connections to the owner of the Canadian club, now in charge of a former SL club, with a ground financed by the RFL. You really couldn’t make it up,

Ottawa have confirmed they are ‘permanently relocating to the uk’.

Will they revert back to Hemel? Or something else entirely?

I’m not sure of the make up of the proposed Ottawa set up but wouldn’t it be nice if any proposed money men and investors could stick with the game in the UK. Invest in a UK team?

Personally i still love the ones that said Bradford were ‘too big to be relegated… the rfl wouldn’t allow it’ oh and when it happened it was ok because we would get parachuted straight back in to super league … where have those experts gone?

In reality, Hemel (let’s forget the silly Ottawa name) will pick another city and try again. Bristol? Sunderland? Manchester? Liverpool? Nottingham? Who knows.

Sunderland would be good to stoke up another rl rivalry between them and Newcastle.
