Wembley 09 - if it never gets better than that, at least I was there....
Wembley 10 - it did........and I was there again.
2011 - SL League Leaders.
2012 - CC Winners...great day, great friends
Blimey, its getting good this supporting thing (or am I a fan.....)

If this WC has taught us anything already, its how abjectly pathetic and inadequate the SL officials are.
Really enjoying the game and it occurred to me that the game is flowing and not stopping every 2 mins,
VR decisions (unless of course your Thaler), is taking 2 looks at the most, even commentators (not scared of upsetting SKY), are berating the time taken - usually SL officials making the most of it.
It really does make a massive difference to the flow of the game and the NRL officials are simply 'light years' ahead of our game making the game something you actually want to watch.
So an influx of NRL officials would imo totally 're-engage' many who are disenchanted with the SL,

Or maybe this WC has highlighted - even more - the amateur nature of the RL who are killing the SL.

"Brian McDermott, with a wry smile, nods when asked if he remembers a specific incident which made him realise he was a prick. 'I do', he murmurs."

The video ref issues are three fold.
1.the host broadcasters are the BBC and they have always been chronically slower than Sky.
2. The volume of games means we're not even getting the regular BBC team so we have people unfamiliar with the process.
3. Comparing to the NRL and its bunker are not really helpful. Until the UK game can afford the technology that lies behind that we will never be able to match its speed of decision making.

“You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”

I was impressed that the aussie video ref earlier today made quick calls on obvious decisions, especially comparing the video ref call in the PNG Tonga game where he watched it multiple times and still got it wrong.

However it was clear that there is an issue when the video ref has to rely on a match director who doesn't know how to find the right replay and then follow instructions, there was a video ref decision at a Catalan Leeds game a few weeks back where the video ref just gave up because the director wouldn't show him the best angle.
