While I appreciate he ran over, barged into him and swung his hand round the front of the player he made no contact with his hand! He didn't punch the player from behind as many seem to be making a point of. Ok he istigated the matter and had no reason to run over and make a scene howver much worse has been overlooked. Fielden getting decked head on by Willy Mason (i think) and no card was shown. Christ Fielden was knocked out and collapsed in heap and many say he hasnt played the same since!!! Its a joke. And unless you've seen what truly happened please keep your outlandish " it was as bad as GBH he could have killed him " comments to a minimum No contact made, so how did the black eye and stitches appear? Taken from the Crusaders website (full article here http://www.crusadersrfl.com/article.php?id=3812) The match ended in controversy when Salford hooker Wayne Godwin was sent off for punching Crusaders captain Clinton Schifcofkse from behind. Harris played with Godwin at Bradford Bulls. And while he was unhappy with the incident, Harris insists it was out of character for Godwin. He added: "I'm not going to do a (Arsene) Wenger and say I didn't see it! I thought it was a cheap shot if I am honest. I've played with Wayne Godwin and it is very out of character for him and I like him as a person. It was a cheap shot and Clinton's got some stitching and a back eye to prove it. I'm not going to rant and rave about it and I will let the relevant people deal with it." You don't need youtube have a look on SLTV and listen to the conversation between the ref and touch judge. http://www.superleague.co.uk/video/player.php?id=21022 He got involved when he shouldn't have and gave a cheap shot when the red mist descended, everyone says it was out of character etc so let the RFL deal with it and move on but please don't make it out to be nothing or trot out the 'well so and so did such an such before' argument. |
