With all honesty I can't believe there were over 5k in there last night. I reckon the South Stand (where I stood) was around 80% full which equates to around 1600 IIRC? The west stand was fuller than I thought but maybe around 50-60% full? If that holds 5000 then I'd have thought we were looking at around the 4.5k mark. Even so I was thinking pre match only about 2.5k would turn up!
With a decent performance in France we can hopefully pull in 8k or so against Leeds.
The west stand had about 3500 in it never seen it so packed, south had about 1700+ seats around me which were normally empty we're all taken up, great crowd against the fulham broncquins!
the stadium scoreboard listed 5,252, and the BBC/ and other sites quote 5,250
M.E.N's Journo ( can't bring myself to write his name ..) had it down as 4,162 however he's incapable of writing anything down correctly . also Andy Wilson 'tweated' 4,162 , he must have been cribbing the idiot's notes, Even the Godfather of RL reporting Dave Hadfield , noted " sadly watched by only a meagre crowd at their new stadium."
WTF?
the main west stand was pretty full and that has a capacity of 4,500 , the south terrace holds 2,500 and was nicely packed too ,
The stadium shut the North ( away Terrace ) and the smaller all seated East stand , to lower stewarding requirements ,
The North Stand , is primarily for away support and Wigan Cas & Hull have filled it quite nicely so far . it would great to see all stands open and if Salford continue playing such an expansive brand of rugby I think attendances will continue to escalate .
In the scheme of things a 5,250 attendance isn't alot to shout about , However it's the largest attendance we've had against London in SL .
