We've had a similar thread not long ago. At that time it seemed from some sources that the Club were to hold some kind of launch programme in October. Well, October's half way through and nothing has transpired so far, and why does that not come as any surprise?
All us long standing and long suffering fans are only too aware of how poor our beloved Club are at marketing and promoting our marvellous product. Is it any wonder we continue to struggle to attract new fans, let alone informing existing supporters what's going on.
We left the Willows on a low note and the Club by their continued inaction have continued to compound it. It's no good moaning about it because nothing is ever going to change as long as our inept background Staff continue to manage our affairs. I'm afraid the loyal supporters among us are just going to have to make the usual effort to find out what's going on by ourselves or wait in the forlorn hope that we may indeed be contacted at some point with any details or offers.
I don't know if the Stadium has been officially handed over yet, but presume that's what the delay in advertising is down to. We need to have open days at the new ground then fans can have a walk round and decide where they's like to sit/stand before committing to buying a season ticket and we need parking and an office available to purchase the said tickets.
We also need home friendlies prior to the season for exactly the same reason, I hope to god that a heavy defeat at HKR is again proffered as a good idea to generate interest. How is it that I expect to find myself in the new stadium surrounded by the loyal 3,000?
I bet the RL have nightmares about a Grand Final between Salford and London Whatevertheirnewnameis at Old Trafford. There wouldn't be enough fans to fill the Munich Tunnel! Not that there's much chance of it ever happening.
Speculating to accumulate is a complete anathema to Salford, but if they think increased crowds are just going to happen and then spend for the second season, they are sadly mistaken. JW has gone on record that he wishes to emulate Warrington. Well not with our current strategy, (Or lack of it).
What is in place to attract lapsed fans, new fans or even better players come to that? Youv'e got it..............Bu**er All. Don't you just love us!!!!
Keep the faith and hope for a miracle, it's all we can do.
