Whichever professional sports team you follow, will always have separate groups (“gangs”) amongst their support which will argue between themselves. I have noticed it much more recently with Salford though.
I have read digs on the @SalfordFaithful Twitter account with regards to this specific forum, such as ‘hope non of the Turkey lot apply’ and ‘If they get on then there's no singing, no kids, no beer, no swearing. May as well go to church’ which is pathetic and one of the reasons I said I wouldn’t want anyone who contributed to that account on the panel representing me. How can all members of this forum be classified as one i.e ‘the Turkey lot’?
You will also see plenty of disagreements on here between forum members too, it more than always use to include RED LEAGUE/Mike87 or whatever alias he uses now and Michigan Red has also copped his fair share. Lets not forget the scrap after the Leeds game in the South Stand to between the same set of supporters. Disagreeing over opinions with other supporters is fine with me, but people seem to struggle agreeing to disagree drag personal vendettas on.
My major concern on the fans panel is that it could be a case of those who shout the loudest who will push there selves to the front of the que. I just hope the 12 that are chosen are of a wide range of ages, backgrounds, experiences and above all, act with professionalism and the integrity needed to make this ‘advisory group’ a success.
