Just had a thought about something that was mentioned to me when chatting with someone at the club. Talked to the club about a BBQ again and trying to get sponsorship and was told that because of the licenses for the retailers on the stadium premises that they would struggle to do this again, would those same licenses prevent say a Harvester or Weatherspoons opening up on the retail part?, you'd have to think that the large area of land between the two access roads would be prime real estate for that with it being very visable from the main road and right next to the stadium.
the only thing that would prevent a licensed premises being built would be the Police and local people putting in objections, I think the club's issue is within the stadium and not surrounding area, but nothing to stop a BBQ outside and then going inside to buy drinks, and then meet players etc, everybody a winner

The guys with the catering contract (I forget their name) might have some complaints if half their customers suddenly went outside to buy their stuff from BBQs. Surely the solution is for them to run alternative "summer" facilities (BBQ, beer tents etc) outside of the main building to make the most of the space.

It's January I'm Freezing my ...Monkey's off dressed like Scott of the Antarctic at the Halifax game and you lot are talking about summer BBQ's !
BTW it's Azure UK , they're struggling to get roller shutters up at the Kiosks & serve beer a more than a snails pace . I wouldn't let them play with fire , we've only just had the place built
Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

For the first time in a few seasons I won't have attended any of the pre-season friendlies due to so ............
Two of the games have coincided with Salford City FC games
The combined cost of entry/parking
I would much rather make my first visit to the new ground as a season ticket holder for a competitive game, ie Castleford, which hopefully will attract a decent crowd and generate a lively atmosphere as well.
Following the Cas game I will of course be able to post my first impressions of our new ground.
They have strongbow on draft! Pitch is superb. Traffic is/will be chaos. I can't smell sewage There are twice as many pie fans in here than Salford fans. I've not got the goosebumps yet that The Willows game me. The TC park & ride needs tweaking... took me ages to find! Feka looks trim!
I hope you do well this year. I have been to the game tonight (Wigan fan) and was quite impressed with everything, apart from the traffic going to and from the stadium. I thought you defended well on the whole tonight but your attack needs tweaking for you to make the top 8. If some of the final balls were spot on you could/should of had a few more tries tonight. Yes Wigan didn't play very well but it was a near full strength team you were up against tonight. Patten/Holdsworth/Smith is a vital combination that needs to stay fit. I certainly will be attending a few of your games this season.

Me too, I'm a Leyther. I sat in the West stand and it's very nice. Didn't like the North stand though when I came for our game but tonight has made my mind up that I will be a casual Reds fan. But Leigh first and foremost.
