You could make a case that Salford had a major role in his development. He came to the club as a promising academy player and left it as an international. It's only since he left Salford that he's dropped down the international pecking order to find himself behind Rangi Chase, Danny McGuire, Rob Burrow, Luke Robinson, Jonny Lomax and a large patch of daylight.

Don't get me wrong Salford / McRae clearly did a lot for that lad. However you can't really speculate what would have happened if we didn't enter admin / if he had stayed. You certainly can't say would still be playing 'NFP' p.s. I thought his only talent was support play so you can't teach that

To say you played an equal if not greater part though is quite comical. He joined Widnes as a raw junior like any other academy product. From the day he joined you he wore the number 7 until he left (take that mentally left if you like) so was always a first team player (that's in response to the signed academy player comment). You get a lot of credit for sticking a young lad in that important role in the team, though I think part of that was due to no P&R (which is a good side of it) and his ability standing out from day one also.

As for him as an international, tbh I thought he deserved a crack this season and was annoyed they drafted in Chase instead, but he's still in the set up at least (exiles game & Knights etc). The lad is scaringly young considering what he has already achieevd in a posistion were most sides would look for an 'experienced leader' so if he were to leave Wire I am sure there would be a few suitors.

P.s. on the Howarth & Veivers signings issue that is a bloody daft rule stating you can have too many federation trained players! But then again I guess it all leads to one thing as does this scenario... Youth set ups have to be a major part of your club which I am sure we could all agree on!

If Myler was surplus to requirements at Warrington , he should be Widnes bound end of ,

Shhh. We don't want Warrington to know or they'll offer him a contract on sensible terms, together with a lucrative part time cleaning job for a member of his family.

I'll concede slightly that you gave him a platform. Nothing that might not have been possible had he stayed at Widnes. He had already captured the eye playing for our academy sides.
