About 20 minutes before the game someone working in the ticket office said over 9,000 tickets have been sold, that's clearly a lie and I don't get why they would need to lie about that. Just over 5k for the first ever Super League game at a new stadium, weather aside it was an awful turn out and the performance wasn't much better, don't see how we're going to survive for much longer.
12 of us went tonight,6 regulars,4 ex regulars and 2 new lads. The day was cracking, the rugby and the experience served up to us at the iconic stadium was well laughable. The 4 ex and the 2 new lads want to do it again without the rugby thrown in.Sums it up really. That lot behind the scenes have had months to plan this event,an they come up with that. What makes it worse in my eyes we were on telly,i don`t know what it looked from there but we the regulars were embarrassed.Has for the game, never looked like winning it,beaten in every department, won`t knock the effort i thought the lads had a go,but soundly beaten.

Yes, from a neutral's perspective, it looked pretty shabby.....You won't have won any new fans who were watching, with a mind to visit at a later date.
Your marketing department needs to go to work big time.

Pretty difficult marketing that load of rubbish especially when RL is a minority sport in this area! Until a mystery millionaire comes along and Salford actually put a team together who can compete and win trophies then those type of gates and less will continue!

Totally agree, but that tonight was pathetic,it was`nt snowing when the fixtures were set,it wasn`t freezing cold when we had 10000 at the willows for our last game their,i if i was`nt a Salford supporter would`nt know we had moved, let alone been playing tonight, and i live in the heart of Salford. How i feel its get the prawn sandwich brigade in for a jolly knees up and balls to the true fans, put them in the cow sheds.

there was a full pagr advert in this weeks Advertiser, but unfortunately half the city don't get it delivered anymore now it is edited in Stockport, perhaps we as fans take on the mantle and try and sell the club to others, because we live in a city with some of the lowest circulations for local press in the country so that may not be an option. We need to mobilise and print off posters and ask local shops to put them up because that is the only way people will get to know.

Bigpev, I watched the game on TV and in all honsety, no matter how much extra advertising you want to do, you won't get fans turning up to watch a team who despite getting there noses in front failed to push on or show any backbone for a fight to match the oposition.Salford still remain at best a good championship team in there present format. That advert to which you refer was actually in the advertiser on two pages but that doesn't matter, nor does posting endless posters. At the end of the day that stadium was built there so millons of care drivers would see it day in and day out, which they clearly do and yes i appreciate unless you know what it's used for your not likely to come but that is where advertising should be concentraited.Any true Salford fan from the Willows era will go come what may.The club will have lost fans due to it's move that is inevatable, but your club has a ready made audience passing every day and the only way you will get close to hitting that 8k breakeven is to get a team on the pitch who wants to compete.
Wrong eh? 8300 sold eh? You telling me nearly 4000 bought tkts and did not turn up cos of a cm of snow? Pathetic as I feared! The "new shed" was a joke and totally out sung by Cas fans! We don't deserve super league let alone a new stadium.......and as for the team!

We don`t get the local rag here either, tonight i took 2 neighbours to there first ever game of rugby league.
