Not disagreeing with what you are saying, but where Paterson might have spent time out of the side injured, Chase, as you mentioned, spent seven games out suspended. During Chase's seven match suspension we also lost Dobson. The only cover we had was Fages, who was found wanting and not yet ready to take control of a game. In fact, we played attacking rugby the wasn't even championship standard.

Anyway Chase/Paterson, we've signed replacements for Chase and Fages but we still look light in the forwards, particularly second rowers. Not that it matters as neither player is likely to return.

Good riddance. I like many others have waxed lyrical about his performances since he joined, but ask me if he was worth anywhere near the money that we were paying him and the answer is an emphatic no. It's also funny how people forget about all his brain farts, that cost us or nearly cost us games because the moments of magic he also provided.

No major loss and Salford without Rangi Chase, will be a stronger team than with him, of that I have no doubts.
