I see what you're saying but believe me they defiantly do know and they are very keen for this to happen but there are still processes they have to go through. The RFL will be kept fully briefed throughout and I'm sure a press release will be issued in the next 24 hours.

It's hot off the press this. They are probably writing it right now! on second thoughts the club needs permission from Peel and the Council to make Stadium statements so don't hold your breath! 18 minutes ... Green Light Just a shame the manchester Evening News couldn't find the right Bleedin' picture, at least the seats ain't green on this one.

The Secretary of State will now be asked to formally approve the plans.

One more hurdle ?
A 'formality' as the original plans had been agreed in principle by the Secretary of State, but there has been a change of Gov and a new secretary of state who prides himself on reigning in local government spending ...

Nobody gives planning permission for huge car parks these days. I'd wager that the site of the proposed retail space (the building in the foreground above) will be used for parking for a good few years though.
