This is getting off topic but Pickles joined the tories after the USSR invaded Czechoslovakia. I'm not standing up for the guy but something clearly changed his mind about the difference in the idiology and the reality of communism put in place in Russia at the time.
One thing that stands out for me is that a normal Polish guy Ryszard Siwiec was so upset about the invasion and political landscape that surrounded him. He set fire to himself and died as a protest.

Either that changed his mind or he was offered a well paid job and didn't feel so happy about equality any longer

Does all this mean that their could be a chance the local government could turn it down and it might not be built??

I think you will find it (the planning app) will go to the secretary of states department who do not
take 3 months holiday and it is parliament that shuts down for the summer not government departments

local govt turning it down after the local council have put money into it would be a rather silly move.

It has local government clearance, it's now down to national government (the ConDems) to pass it finally.

That worries me, with all the cut backs they seem to be doing and favouring the south we should be very worried
