The squad we have at the minute is going to get bummed all over Super League next season. Our only hope is that Noble can't tempt too many decent players down to Celtic.

Who? As far as I can tell we are gonna have to cobble a back line together that looks something like - 1. Fitzy, 2. Henry, 3. Talau, 4. Gibson, 5. McGilvray, 6. M. Smith 7. Ratchford. I'm happy to be corrected about the possible line up but any way you do it it looks grim. That's without even looking at the possible horror show that is the forwards. I'm not bothering commenting on that army bit of your post.

What i see in that backs is 2 internationals, top ozzie who is willing to work hard for the cause, one former leeds academy star looking for a chance to show what he can do back in the big time, a borderline england international who is one for the future, speedster who young and knows where the line is and a st helens player who could have a big future as that is the reason he is here on loan and not here perminent as they are deciding where they are goin to invest their money in the future, they decide to buy a top ozzie or kwis we can help him achieve what he can in the game.

All of the above can play at the very top level while at salford

Salford 'till I die

I can't really see how people can say we are going to do rubbish next season. The squad hasn't been finalised, nor have a lot of other teams. We don't know how players will play next season. Its not individuals coming or going that makes all the difference, its a team game so we'll have to wait and see how we play as a team. Not only that but isn't the idea of the franchise to play young players ect? So even if we don't do well we can say to the RFL that we are playing young British players, which is more than a lot of other clubs. I think we are going in the right direction.

I'm quite glad people are saying we'll be rubbish next year.

Usually there' a false sense of confidence on here which then leads to disappointment.

Perhaps this time we can go into the season expecting to be dire so that anythnig better than that will be a bonus?

Never thought of it that way, let's hope we're in for a pleasant suprise.

You can dress it up however you want mate but in comparison with any other side we are poor. I could be describe as a 'local hungry talent wanting to play his heart out for the cause.' It doesn't mean I will be any good. Internationals? Come on don't be daft, the word international doesn't mean alot when the standard is akin to that of NL2. I would love nothing more than to see us sticking it up people next season but I just can't see it.

The main difference between us and the other clubs is self belief, we usually make all the right noises and when it comes down to it fail to deliver.

To stop this cycle of hope to failure id hope the players look at themselves in that 1st team meeting and say

"well there are around 420 people all doin the same as me, training the same time as me,eatin the same stuff as me, sleepin the same time as me everyone is doing great and giving 100@%, but if everyone is doing great it is int great it becomes the average, average performances wont win you anything

What do i need to do that 90% wont do? To give me that edge Might mean extra trainin on a wednesday running up and down the northstand steps or kicking or passing a rugby ball into a wheelie bin or take up yoga so im a bit more flexable in the tackle so i can offload or somthin silly like no beer or chocolate durin the season"

Its upto the individual what he wants to do to help himself become a better player, we cant tell him, mcrae cant tell him,if he succeeds and wins the battle in his head and becomes a better player he'll get more success and job satisfaction and achieve more than a player who gives 100% like the 419 doing the same job.

Its all about hunger for me, havin a youthful side is helpful because with youth you have no fear of failure, and with no fear of failure you can just go out and play and when everyone around is beginin to choke under the pressure because its not goin right they will come out fighting and not take a backward step.

The season starts 1st day back in training not february, so lets all get behind them

Someday, somewhere, today’s empires are tomorrow’s ashes.

One improvement for next season would be to play Stefan Ratchford at stand-off and, judging by recent articles in the Advertiser, it looks like that might be happening.

It seems fans of other clubs are recognising how good he is.
