My main worry is that one of the main criteria for franchise is to have a competing squad. Now we're getting rid of a large core of players. So I presume we'll be getting enough cover for these. We then need a bedding in period for them. If its true we are going to spend even less on the squad than this season how are we going to find a quality of player needed to move on and upwards? Are we looking at another season of crap perfomances by an inadequate squad? Therefore meaning a bottom 2 finish. Couple this with what is the fiasco of the it'll be starting to get built next month stadium. It wouldn't suprise me if the board have started money saving measures to get ready for a SL exit. Let's face it if we were going to get the stadium the board would be going all out to dig deep into their pockets. To ensure we have the best quality team we can, inwhich to gain momentum for entering the new age of salfords new stadium and the increase of crowds expected. Crowds who will want to watch a competetive team otherwise those expected thousands will very quickly disappear.

Fingers crossed the club will come good. I have my doubts

Much of what you have said is hear say and not information coming from the club or even a club source. So stop being a miserable b*st*rd and lets see what happens in respect of signings before writing off the club.

I personally think that the bunch of Aussies we got this year are by far the best group for many years. We have recruited Matty Smith already, who is an excellent signing too. Lets see who we sign and then judge.

To say the club wants to be relegated and is planning for this eventuality is ridiculous.

Personally I think from a results point of view the club did pretty well this year by beating a number of the 'big boys' and losing by 8 points on 10 occasions.

Lets stay positive and not do the usual moaning in the close season!

Considering the players that have gone I feel we will need at the very least replacements to cover the following positions:-

Fullback (Need a good fullback as Fitzy is less than average since the injury)
2 x Wingers (Quality winger to play every week, one to challenge McGillvray for the other wing spot)
Centre (Competition or back up for Talau and Henry)
Utility Halfback (If Jeremy Smith moves to hooker, as cover for Ratchford & Matty Smith)
Prop (To replace Stapleton)
Second Row (To replace Parker who I'd move to prop)
Hooker (Possibly move Jeremy Smith to Hooker Interchange)

And possibly another goal kicker as cover for Ratchford.

Would anyone disagree with that?

As said before, Ashley Gibson can play 4 of these positions. FB, Wing, Centre, Hooker.

Are you his agent or infact Ashley himself? the only time you post on our board is to tell us we have signed/how good/and where Gibson can cover, until it is confirmed by either of the clubs it is not a done deal, otherwise it would be announced by now, so you dont need to keep posting the same over and again

Interesting Article

Apparently we tried to sign Morrin in the last off season, And reading his comments i doubt he wants to join "a hippie clan"

He's been here long enough, Littler might aswell just stay.

I think he'll be happy doing anything from a spot of stewarding to helping the burger blokes out ...

Sad indictment really that Salford still have Stuart playing-honest tryer but reflects the clubs progress(or lack of it) that he is still a regular starter.

NRL emforcer Brad Morrin:

The former Moorebank Rams club junior rejected a lucrative deal with English Super League club Salford for a one-year extension at Belmore.

“Negotiations were all over the place,” Morrin said. “I was going to join a hippie clan."

Again seems to highlight Mr Simms negotiation skills or lack of them!
