Far too many again and we aren't even at half time yet! Our defence isn't strong enough to just keep inviting pressure. Also, Meli is woeful!

Widnes were more composed. For all the experience in our team we still make a lot of schoolboy errors.

Can't fault the effort, but Chase made some poor decisions at key times. Eden had constant brain farts, and our pace and defence out wide was poor. Fifty-fifty calls didn't go our way, and Brown's ability to throw forward passes is incredible. Incredible in that they never seem to penalise them. He must have thrown half a dozen at least and got pulled for one. Two leading to tries.

We need to have more discipline after scoring, to play out pressure sets and we couldn't do it. Widnes rode their luck but played a more sensible game and got the win.

More or less spot on with everything there, but the poster above mentions how much experience you have. Its a fact though that you gain experience with age and without having all the facts in front of me you did seem to have quite a few 30+ players out there and in that heat its going to tell.

When went into the lead we were trying expansive passes on the halfway line on the 2nd or 3rd tackle. We just need that win i think top 8 is a long way away and that's not being negative just realistic! We didnt get any luck today whatsoever! And can i ask why was Junior Sau kicking? Our forwards today were first class its just out wide were so poor!

Beaten by a better "team". Lack of urgency to set the scrums towards the end was telling.

Folk have a pop at Meli but he's our leading try scorer and is doing what he is paid to do - execute finishes.

The vast majority of his tries have been walk ins though. Any player could score some of the chances he's had. For a big guy, his attempt at a tackle at the end was embarrassing.

I'd love to know the meters Meli has run combined on the try play. I'd wager it isn't far as most have been a case of falling over the line. If it wasn't for Sa'us being robust in defense that side would see a hell of a lot more tries conceded.

I don't know why Meli looks so hesitant to try and catch the ball, he's better of at least trying and knocking on than not trying at all.

For me with a pack as big and dominant as ours we should be playing basic driving rugby rather than fancy dan stuff, let Chase try the killer ball in the last 1/4 of the field rather than deeper down the pitch where if it goes to ground the opposition have a good attacking platform.

Meli's confidence in catching high balls was shot long ago by him costing us (saints) multiple grandfinals by dropping bombs! Usually comfortable ones where there was no pressure too!

Meli as a winger is usually good for 2-3 runs deep in your own half a game to start some momentum early in a set, finishing strongly when in sight of the line and missing 1 in 3 tackles he attempts.

Meli as a centre offers the good stuff from above, he doesn't have to compete for balls, you can mask his defence better, and has a decent eye for releasing his winger - I'm not sure why you would persist with him on the wing (though I said the same about saints for years!)
