I’d probably have Nicholson starting ahead of Bateman, but don’t think you’ll be far off with that 17.

TBH I would not have Bateman in the 17 but put him in because Burgess will play him. Back row should be Nicholson and Fitzgibbon but hey ho

Bateman is in the international squad.

I think he has been getting much more effective.

Good question, and a good problem to have.

I'd be and was very happy with Fitzgibbon and Nicholson but Bateman is improving and he's not just a 'third wheel' in this squad. I think he's played himself into contention and he's useful if our previous 'first picks' need a freshen up.

I'd start him and have Nicholson on the bench for Saints. I like the bit of mongrel that he brings and he is a terrier in defence.
