I expect Gids to move to 9, allowing brown and Patton to play in the halves, Brown will have a decent game and thus the week after when Clark returns Patton will find the door firmly shut, with Gids and brown lining up at 6 and 7.

Or, Gidley has a weeks rest as we do like to be reminded he was already getting on a bit back when The Beatles were "the new thing".
