What happens if we have a three game Test series, England v Australia. Aussies win the First Test and then in the second, England win thanks to a great performance from Blake Austin. The Aussies call him up for the decider. Blake surely has the right to feel Australian as well as English so who is anyone else to say he's not entitled to two nationalities? He switches sides and helps the Aussies win the decisive Test.

Australia will sekect those only from previous state of origin.
So the scenario wouldn't occur.

If you are free to change the gender you identify with you should be free to change the country you identify with, surely.

In the same way that people put he/him or she/her as gender identifying pronouns in their twitter bio/email sig, to avoid accidental offence from others, the players could indicate on their twitters the appropriate greeting: G'day/how's it goin?, Hey up/how do?, Bonjour/Salut, Who you lookin' at Jimmy?/Get tae feck man

Quite simple. You pick either England or Wales, AND IT STAYS THAT WAY, until the end of your career. SHOULD the RFL chose to resurrect the GB brand, the Home Nations entity would be put on hold, and you automatically become eligible for a GB Jersey. Not difficult, is it? You're causing an issue where the wouldn't be one.

If I was a decent prospect I'd be tempted to pick England as that's my only chance of winning a World Cup for a country I loved. If I didn't make the grade, I'd be over the moon to represent Wales but under your rules, I wouldn't be able to. To force someone's hand that early in their career to choose one would be ridiculous.

There are also life events that happen such as a parent passing away for moving countries that can change your view.

You're making out nationality to be black and white. For you it may be, for many people it isn't.

Nationality is definitely important where government forms are concerned , especially if you are abroad & want UK consular assistance because you have a UK passport. Don't knock it .
