Lefty ... "My wish for 2015 is that as soon as the last ball of 2014 has been kicked, TS is sitting down to solve the half-back equation permanently."
You won't find anybody disagreeing on that one. Let's hope, as stated previously, that plans are already in place and couldn't be brought forward when Briers retired leaving us to make the best of it this season before the Messiah arrives for 2015
Funnily enough, I've been saying this since the end of 2012.
As far as I'm concerned, a new half back should have been bought, the day after we got beat by Leeds in the 2012 GF. As a humble speccy, I could see that Briers was effectively finished(yes, he did play some games like the legend he was in 13, but they were few and far between), and we should have acted then. We are 2 years down the line now, and the problem has STILL not been rectified.
C'mon, Broomhead, Moran et al, time to get your fingers out
Next year, if Simms lives up to billing, we will have a very formidable pack :
Hill, Higham/Clark, Simms, Evans, Laithwaite, Westwood, Currie, Grix, England, Harrison etc.
That pack should lay the platform for the backs against any team. The concern for me, and the acid test for the team, will be how well the half-backs we deploy utilise what should be, acres of space and time.
For me, even when afforded the kind of dominance those forwards should deliver, I'm not convinced our current halves will make best use of it.

Who did you think we should have signed then and how would you have got them under the salary cap with Briers, Morley, Carvell and Hodgson all on it.
