My word. We wanted a top quality prop and this is who we have signed. Panic signing, our recruitment results leave a lot to be desired.

How many world class props as there, how many are available, how many want to play in the UK, how many want to play for Warrington?? = probably none
How many good props as there, how many are available, how many want to play in the UK, how many want to play for Warrington?? = maybe 1 or 2 but they also want to play for Wigan, St's Leeds ect.
How many average props as there, how many are available, how many want to play in the UK, how many want to play for Warrington?? = probably 3 or 4 and again they would play for all the other clubs if offered a contract.
Some people on here think that the recruitment is dead easy, find a player offer him money and get his signature !!
Has anyone thought that Cox is the only player that fits in the criteria above and therefore we have signed the best young prop available to us.
We have all been calling for another prop, we get one and we are all moaning !!!!! unbelievable

Really agree marshman777, I think we've been spoilt too much in recent years and need to be grateful for the excellent recruitment we've already made.

Spot on this. If there was somebody better available I'm sure the club at the very least would've tried to sign them and Cox wouldn't be here. People have been saying "we need a prop" for a while now - who then? Apart from Ukuma Ta'ai and Sam Burgess (was never gonna happen was it) there's been nobody else mentioned. We need forwards and we now have Hill, Sims, Dodds, B. Evans, Westwood, Cox, G. King, Philbin. Not as strong as we've been in the past but that's us done for next year I'm afraid and we make the best of it, as mentioned Cox probably wouldn't be here if we had another forward coming in.

Is Cox a substantial improvement on England ? Will Dodds be on the pitch more than Asotasi ? Have we ever really replaced Morley, Carvell and Wood ?

Even recognising the market forces, a fans forum is absolutely the right place to discuss the club's recruitment policy, and seeming lack of ambition.

I've got to fully agree with his shiny and I'm a bit disappointed that having got ourselves out of the doldrums, we've slipped a bit and seem ill prepared in the transfer/recruitment market on the face of it

Cox is not as good as England at spitting.

"seeming lack of ambition" - care to explain that?

I thought we had paid two six figure transfer fees, one of only two clubs to use the marquee exemption to sign a player, signed a prop who has just played in the NRL grand final and an ex Aussie international who has just been voted player of the year for his club in the NRL.

Just because we sign somebody who has 64 SL games to his name and when ever I've seen him looked a decent prospect with plenty of size to replace a championship level prop who never took his chance to step up in class you're whinging like a 10 year old schoolgirl on Christmas morning who didn't get the My Little Pony they asked for.
