That 2nd half looks like they found there mojo they battered a very handy Salford team..with a cog up from ref..as a side note I see walmsley still shakes his head throws his arms up every time she gets tackled
Looked to me like Salford imploded courtesy of one of the more st stupidly conceived and ineptly executed passes I’ve seen in a long while. After that panic set in (a feeling we all know too well). Walmsley is a good player but always seems affronted when someone has the nerve to tackle him. Saints I’ll discipline still there but not punished on this occasion, seems all their whingeing has paid off.

Salford imploded because they were suffocated and put under too much pressure. They're like that, glorious when they're on the front foot, but pin them in and they don't have the forwards to get out, or the patience to just work hard to get their way back into the game. They were trying to score from anywhere, which is admirable, but prone to failure given the lack of quality in their backs. Their wingers are both shocking and without Lafai they weren't going to have enough to get back into it.
Still six or seven out for us, so happy with that win. The disciplinary will have it's feast with Sironen and Lees no doubt. Be interesting to see if they bother to punish the two worst challenges in the game, the bad high shot on Ritson and the shoulder charge on Lomax off the ball from Sneyd.
Horrendous game though, the play the balls a total mess, a classic Chris Kendall game. He has absolutely no ability to control the ruck and ensure a reasonably quick play the ball. The lack of a yellow card for Sneyd when he tackled Lomax, who had already been tackled and that tackle been ruled as a six again because of how slow it was, was bizarre. They need to come up with a solution for the six again, as it's a farce. Penalty on the first two tackles? Bring penalties back in for flops?
They aren't at their best, they have a few more gears to get through. They're still the favourites for every trophy IMO.
You may not count the League Shield as a trophy? It`s poor how the Shield`s value has been diminished, when it demonstrates which club has been consistently the best throughout the season.
Can`t see them getting to 1st in the League Table given their start to the season.
Otherwise, I agree that for the knock-out games we will see them winning one of them.

diminished? it was never 'ished' in the first place.

I hope you'll at least acknowledge that your side slows the ruck just as much as other teams. You only seem to notice when other teams' actions deserve to be penalised or carded, too. Take the blinkers off mate, your lot ply a grubby trade too.
Exactly, it was brought in as an afterthought. I wonder if Wigan, Saints or Leeds fans can remember if they won the LLS in their GF winning seasons.
thing is, there was no incentive to finish top at that point the way the play offs were set, yes it was nice to win the first time, but there was no actual reason to do so.
Now if there was a benefit, of, say £100k being discounted on the salary cap, thats a reward or an incentive to do so.
I did think at the time that the Challenge cup winner GF winnner and the league leaders should all be invited to the short lived world club challenge, as a reward. But as we saw, even that wasn't a draw as someone (think it was huddersfield) didn't want to get involved in that(typical tinpot rugby league) so we got drafted in, to play the broncos, i think.

Yes incentivising a club to go for the LLS is one thing, making it count in a supporters mind is another. I think you could argue that the LLS only gets a mention by the clubs fans who win nothing else that year.
The Challenge Cup used to be a massive spectacle in RL but the advent of Super League GF put paid to that.
Also the John Player was coveted (at least in my mind when we won it in 91) and added interest in the season. Now it's all about the GF.
All these decisions were taken to make the game stronger and to expand the game. Has it worked?
