"seeming lack of ambition" - care to explain that?
I thought we had paid two six figure transfer fees, one of only two clubs to use the marquee exemption to sign a player, signed a prop who has just played in the NRL grand final and an ex Aussie international who has just been voted player of the year for his club in the NRL.
Just because we sign somebody who has 64 SL games to his name and when ever I've seen him looked a decent prospect with plenty of size to replace a championship level prop who never took his chance to step up in class you're whinging like a 10 year old schoolgirl on Christmas morning who didn't get the My Little Pony they asked for.
Whenever you've seen him play you must have seen something a lot of posters on here and social media have failed to notice. We've signed a player from a club that have consistently finished below us in Super League yet have released him, who's had various internal disciplinary issue at Hull KR, has suffered various injuries and by his own admission gets ill very easily following the removal of his spleen.
I would love him to do well at Warrington, but I make no apologies for being underwhelmed at signing him. The good thing is is that its only a 12 month contract, so not a massive risk considering he'll be a squad player.
You mention posters are acting like 10 year old girls not getting My Little Ponies, but it comes across in your post that your doing the same yourself because you don't seem to like the criticism his signing has brought. Quite ironic that.

He's replacing Anthony England for God's sake not Les Boyd. All your criticisms of Cox apply to England as well.
Do you honestly believe England is better than Cox?
Anyway my gripe with the whinging spoilt schoolgirl contingent is the accusation of lack of ambition.
That'll be "whinging like a 10 year old schoolgirl on Christmas morning..." who invests their time and money in supporting the club, who therefore feels entitled to express their opinion, which perhaps differs from your own.
I really hope Jordan kicks on and proves he can make it at super league level For some unknown reason to me he has never played front row for us he has always played back row under 3 different coaches now, I guess the writing was on the wall for him last season when we was down to bare bones in the pack and we sent Cox out on loan to hudds (Where he played back row as well), if rumours are to be believed he was on the way out at the end of the season but Jamie peacock wanted to have a look at him see if there was anything to work with but that didn't take long if we have released him after a week back at training

You can express your opinions all you want however when you make totally unfounded statements then expect to be challenged about it. That is what a forum is meant to be about.
So why do you think the club is "seeming to lack ambition"?
Westwood was in all purpose covering some work usually done by props last season. He coped very well and will go well for us again in that role.
Sims has the attributes of a great skipper, he's not a million miles off a prop too, he's tall but 1/2 a stone shy. I hope he had his fish battered with his chips and gravy during the close season.
Hill solid and always slightly improving. This year we could see him peak and in turn unofficially recognised as the best prob in SL.
I'm underwhelmed by our forward signings but it doesn't mean I'm saying they are bad players. I like Jordan Cox and think he could be a bargain buy, if he stays injury free he could come good. I like Westwood as a prop and think he will do ok, gutted Harrison is missing most of the season I think prop is his best position. That saying I'm more then happy with the rest of our signings I think we've brought some skill and power in our back line which will see us good. I have to admit when I heard we signed Dodds I spat my dummy out and through a hissy fit. But I was going off what I had previously seen which wasn't good. I've seen a lot of his games this year including the final and he was in the same mold as sims, he's a big fast prop with great defence. He drives hard and could excell over here, lots of not well known players do well in a different style of competition so fingers crossed. Hill, Sims, Dodds, Evans, Harrison, King, Westwood,Philbin. We're not short of grunt so I'm more and more happy with the squad as time goes on, I'm looking forward to 2016
Well, we've 14 pages of discussion about a lack of props, and the "solution" seems to be the anmouncement of Jordan Cox, yet you fail to comprehend that for some (who believe that the lack of go forward was a problem last season) this might show a lack of ambition by the club to improve on the situation ?

Warrington made the third most metres in Super League last season and the most metres per carry in the league. That would seem to suggest go forward was not the issue.
Perhaps 10th for clean breaks might have an ambitious club looking to recruit halfbacks, like Sandow and Gidley for example.
Given a decent halfback pairing who click with the forwards, we may well see a different effort in front of the sticks and the metres forward will also improve. Clearly on first impressions Cox is no world beater, but with him on a 12 month deal and Harrison on 12 months injury enforced sabbatical I guess all could go well. However, it could fall down if Cox gets injured, ill, poor discipline or just doesn't do it as appears to be the main comments elsewhere. He has a chance at a club that is as well equipped for success as any other in the league and he has to grab it.
