Wouldn’t be surprised if it was Matt Prior that was the NRL prop we want. Played under Price at the Dragons and at Cronulla when he was assistant.

Good player. You will get the usual suspects on here moaning that he is 32, but he was good enough to play state of origin(I think!)last year when he was 31. I'd rather a 32 year old prior than a 29 year old Jason Clark.

At the beginning of last season I was looking forward to seeing Jason Clark, the bunnies and their fans spoke highly of him. Not seen anything like the form he apparently showed at Sydney. Let's hope he picks his game up for next season. I was hoping we would have announced a prop or two by now instead of a social media star and Brand who will probably go into the reserves.

Do you think Amor is there for the taking as a few are suggesting?

Prior is a decent prop but I am not too sure that the risk of a lot of the cap and the last quota spot being tied up is justified on an NRL prop.
Wigan lost Hamlin and Tautai and promoted Byrne, Partington and Smithies which meant that Navarerette couldn't get a look in. Surely we can find players within the club or in the lower leagues that are simply hungry enough to do a job in the forwards.
I would be more impressed in the coaching set up at the club if we managed to unearth a gem from within our system by putting the effort into coaching them to be a decent SL level player.
Salford can take 3 props that looked like they were finished when they left Wigan to the GF.
Halifax pushed Saints all the way so must have some half decent players.
If we look to the NRL I will be a bit disappointed to be honest. It will be another example of the quick fix mentality that we have as a club which is like when you are hungry order a domino's for £20 or make yourself a healthy tea but that is load of effort but a whole lot better for you.
I would be more impressed if we could sign a young player and put the effort in to coaching and make it work but that doesn't sell season tickets right now does it.

If Jace Clark so good...Souths wouldn't have shown him the door.
His first up knock on rate must rival many.
I have to say he's been an overall disappointment from the fan hype. I think Livett has been witch hunted out because he clearly has more talent than Jace Clark.

To be fair though, wigan fan were begrudging that navarette should have played over partington or byrne in the last couple of games.

I think the wigan fans were right. With hindsight those 3 kids were flogged every week for about 3 months and some of them played big minutes each week. Smithies looked like he needed a rest.

People saying we should look in this country for the prop and not the NRL - well if we sign Navarette and Amor to go with Kibula as the answers to our first team prop issue then we can write off next season. It would be as if Liverpool, when needing a world class centre-half didn't sign VVD but plumped for Smalling, Johnny Evans and Luiz instead!!!
