Prior is a decent prop but I am not too sure that the risk of a lot of the cap and the last quota spot being tied up is justified on an NRL prop.
Wigan lost Hamlin and Tautai and promoted Byrne, Partington and Smithies which meant that Navarerette couldn't get a look in. Surely we can find players within the club or in the lower leagues that are simply hungry enough to do a job in the forwards.
I would be more impressed in the coaching set up at the club if we managed to unearth a gem from within our system by putting the effort into coaching them to be a decent SL level player.
Salford can take 3 props that looked like they were finished when they left Wigan to the GF.
Halifax pushed Saints all the way so must have some half decent players.
If we look to the NRL I will be a bit disappointed to be honest. It will be another example of the quick fix mentality that we have as a club which is like when you are hungry order a domino's for £20 or make yourself a healthy tea but that is load of effort but a whole lot better for you.
I would be more impressed if we could sign a young player and put the effort in to coaching and make it work but that doesn't sell season tickets right now does it.
