I think they count all season ticket holders to have attended, then add the number of non season ticket holders attending the game to get the attendance. This, I believe, is so the season ticket revenue is attributed correctly each month for accounting purposes.
i.e) earned revenue for season tickets each month will apply as 1/14 of total season ticket revenue for each home game in the month.
