It's been fun.

Re: Ryan Bailey : Fri Feb 19, 2016 1:16 pm
What he is is a distraction, he winds the opposition up enough that they concentrate on him, wanting to hurt him and they forget just enough to tske them of their usual fully focused game.
Case in point the Saints game when Graham just went after him and made it personal, probably detrimental to Grahams game that day bit he didn't see it.

Funnily enough was chatting with a mate of mine in the boozer when he first signed and he was saying the same thing - bought for specifically for games like this, when we need to counteract the usual dirty pie tactics with a bit of a niggle. Looking forward to it.

He would be in my matchday 17 for any game against Wigan. The likes of mad Mickley and Ben flower will be charging out of the line to put a shot on him. He could sap a lor of their energy. I know this might sound like madness but I would even be tempted to start with sims and bailey with Westwood at 13 and bring hill off the bench after 15mins.

McIlorum and Bailey are mates.

If I remember rightly he did this to us in the 2012 GF, 4 or 5 Wire players went for him and he p***ed himself laughing as our last attack of the game came to nothing. He knew exactly what he was doing. I'd prefer not to win a game with one of our player acting a clown in this way but given the teams we've had 2011-2013 and still ending up falling short maybe it's what we need right now.

I can remember a bloke called Les Boyd some years ago. This guy came with a bit of a reputation to say the least. I wonder what happened to him.

Very different for several reasons. Boyd had not been playing in our country for a direct rival team. Also, Boyd made it his business to go head-to-head with the enforcers in the other sides, Sorensen being a prime example. Not quite Bailey's modus operandi - I seem to recall him trying to bully Chris Riley and shitting himself when Morley appeared.

I was in favour at the time for some of him signing is last chance saloon and chance for tony smith manage the guy. As I said again at the time of the signing the reaction on here were nothing short of pathetic and it is nice to see the majority getting it into perspective.

I agree, signing him is a no brainer when you think about it;

1 He is a good tackler.

2 He is a well-respected, mature professional and can mentor the youngsters in how to win crucial matches.

3 Look at all the tries he has both scored, and made, in the string of GF's Leeds have contested. How has he missed out on Man of Steel with his medal haul ?

4 For his size he is very quick. I have seen him simply run away from George Graham in a match against Saints a few years back.

What surprises is why Leeds should have released him a season ago ?, but their loss is our gain as they say.

Sorry Charles you are mistaken it was ladee dah Gunner Graham and he dropped his spectacles in pursuit otherwise Bailey was toast. On a serious note on the basis that Leeds were always losing a few seniors last season you might have supposed that they may have been keener for him to stay.

My opinion of him here has softened with time and some decent sound bites but we shall see

Most posters on here would never have heard of Joe Price.

Definitely the dirtiest player that I have ever seen in Warrington colours.

He couldn`t play rugby, but what a bruiser
